You also said..."People who refuse to wear masks are being ultra-selfish and that is not what God's Word teaches us to be.".....As you know from my post I wear a mask where required.
My point is people like you think mask make you practically bullet proof. But the facts tell us there's a huge chink in your armor. You fail to see it or admit it.

What's "misleading, at best" is the numbers you posted...they didn't include the leaks.

I haven't seen anyone in this thread say that wearing masks "makes you practically bullet proof." They do make it less likely that you will spread the virus to others if you have it. Those who don't wear them are frankly being selfish. They are now required in my state--I was happy to see a store manager order someone who was not wearing one to immediately leave the store.

Have you come up with new numbers yet?

Don’t believe I was asked to come up with new numbers. That question came up but it wasn’t directed to me.

If you want to be bullet proof you need one of those Iron Man suits.

Live statistics are in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong where people are wearing masks with no exception. Covid-19 is kept under control in those highly populated regions.

IMO, masks are with no use if the virus is airborne. Masks actually work in a similar way of social distancing, that is, to effectively prevent the contract from oral saliva.

Many of the mask orders have been put in place by state governors, without going through their state legislatures. These people are not supposed to be dictators under our system of government. However, some of them will act as such if allowed to do so.

The governor of North Carolina shut down church gatherings over a certain size, until he was stopped by a Federal judge.

Now the same man has put a mask order in place. How long will it stand until a Federal judge stops him?

That depends on what powers are granted to the governor under the state Constitution. Closing the churches is a different matter—that falls under the 1st Amendment which is why it was before a Federal Court.

Do you know of any states that give their governors dictatorial powers, outside of the state legislature?

I found none in the constitution of the State of North Carolina.

The first amendment of the U.S. Constitution is a prohibition upon the Federal government. It begins with the word "Congress".

I don’t know that ordering that masks be worn would qualify as a dictatorial power.

Article III Section 5(10) of the NC Constitution gives the governor the power to issue Executive Orders, which is what he used to require masks. The legislature may have to confirm that once it comes back into session.

You need a background in law. First Amendment applies to the states via the 14th Amendment. If it didn’t apply the case wouldn’t have been before a Federal court. Yes, I know what word it begins with.

Executive Orders are meant to help the governor enforce existing law, instead of creating law.

Dan Forest has filed a lawsuit against Governor Roy Cooper for not bringing these issues to the Council of State, as he is required to do by law.

The section I cited talks about Executive Orders making changes to existing law, but if a case has been filed then it is up to the Courts. I don’t have a clue who Dan Forest is but I will take your word for it that he has filed a suit.

I presume that you have figured out that the decision regarding closing churches was based on the 1st Amendment.

Because the course of the epidemic is changing over time, you really don't want the legislature managing it. Governors should, however, be operating under powers given to them by the legislatures to deal with emergency situations. Most of them are doing so.

You must not be from North Carolina...

Below is a retired police officer, now pastor from Florida, who takes a look at the current numbers.

Ah yes, a retired police officer and current pastor. How about posting something from a person with serious qualifications, perhaps a medical doctor or researcher. This guy has nothing.

I don't know. I mostly wear a mask and behave myself because it seems somewhat ok to do so and it doesn't stress me out to do it. Do I actually believe it is a necessary thing? Not so much, but I go along. I just don't have any trust in any of this self-perpetuating propaganda anymore. Next week will be the opposite story.
I am kinda torn on this subject. There is info saying it does help. As well as info saying it can affect you to. As in breathing back on carbon dioxide that you already exhaled out. Of course there are those who are claustrophobic too. Which it can be really hard for them to wear one. I will wear one just so I don't cause any sort of arguments in an indoor public place. I don't wear one much at work though. Since I am pretty much by myself most of the time.

Since he quoted directly from official government sources in the video, it is obvious you did not listen to what the man said...
