I think another thing the council should have done is call Greg in privately and tell him that they know he wants the gold star, and they know he's working hard for it, and his contributions are recognized. Then they should say that he is abusive and antagonistic, and for those reasons, he is not a candidate for the star this time, but IF he keeps up the good work AND makes an effort to get along with the other kids, they'd consider him for next time.

I think that is a really good idea. Greg seems to be getting bitter and he DOES need to know (as we all do) that his efforts are appreciated. I agree that he also needs to know that bad behavioiur (swearing, attitude) won't be rewarded.

I am so glad that Morgan got the star this week; she is just a lovely young lady. She really brought the town together in an important way this week. She is an excellent leader....one of those lead by example leaders.

Zach is really becoming a stand up guy too as he tries to separate himself from the embarrassingly lazy yellow team.

The little boy who was crying after the prayer... that was beautiful. I was in tears too.

Now can I talk about Taylor? I would be digging a big hole in the ground to hide in if she was MY kid. Mind you, kids have to learn their behaviour somewhere don't they? What a tremendous BRAT.

I hope she gets the boot soon. Zach would make an excellent replacement. And the (nameless) blond girl who is always hanging around Taylor is going to get a rude awakening when her friend gets knocked out of power. I really hope to see yellow scrubbing toilets.

This is my new favourite show too!

I missed the first episode...how did they pick the town council anyway?

I think that Jared kid is hilarious!

I think the council members were pre- determined, probably by a few interviews with CBS.

It's about time they do this re-election thing. Taylor will be ridden out of there on the fastest horse the town can find. If they do have to elect members of their own color for the spots I would definitely agree with Zach for yellow. The green council member (don't remember her name?) might also be under consideration. She seems to be intelligent but can't lead her team capably under times of pressure. Also the red council member, mr. boy scout (can't remember him either) should also be up on the block. I think he has a personal grudge out Greg. Sure, Greg's interest definitely increased when the gold star was introduced. But whose didn't?! I know there are surely definite degrees of purity in motives in that town of kids. But how can they truly judge each other's hearts? Exactly - they can't. The problem is I don't think we've yet been shown a suitable red replacement leader.

I was so proud of the kids for picking the holy books. Proud, but shocked :swoon: I mean, these are kids we're talking about here! The prayer service and the crying boy at the end was truly touching. This is really a fascinating show

I was also impressed with the kids picking the holy books.

Yeah, that crying boy, was very sweet. Did they say that they won't be able to contact each other after the show? Poor guy, he said something like...."I'll never see these people again!"

And I agree with those who said earlier, I would NOT make it on this show!

I agree that the guy on the yellow team is really impressive. It's one thing to step up and take responsibility for getting things done, but it has another level of difficulty if everyone in your group is doing the exact opposite.

I was so sad when that little boy (Cody...Coby?) left and his best friend was crying.

I was very surprised that they picked the holy books. I just kind of figured that the kids who really cared about having holy books would have brought their own from home.

What about that little kid on the red team (Asian kid)? He's SMART! I thought it was really cool that he went around and took a survey of what religion everyone was so that they could represent everyone.

Why aren't they allowed to keep in touch after the show? What is so bad about that? I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find each other on MySpace.

I bet they will keep in touch. He was probably just distraught and didn't think that he would see them again, but I'm sure the producers will help them keep in touch after the shows over.

I think Cody (Coby? What's his name?) just thought he probably wouldn't have much chance to see the friends he'd met on the show afterward. Once the finale airs, reality show contestants are usually not forbidden from contacting each other.

Okay, I won't spoil tonight's episode - I just want to say this show is starting to put me on a major guilt trip because it just seems so very wrong to dislike certain children so very much. They are just children, after all. :sigh:

That said, I love this show. :D

Yeah, Snooch, I hear ya!

And yet, I do want to sing .....Ding dong the witch is....gone!

Hey, we all start off somewhere and how we grow up tends to mold us into who we are as adults. This could be a lesson for a certain someone, but that's doubtful. Especially considering next week's previews!

I said to my son..."please dont' bring that kind of girl home!" He assures me he won't.

I was actually surprised that she got voted out because she seems to be the "gang leader" for the other little girls on the yellow team. I was happily surprised, though!

And I was glad that Anjay stayed on the council. Does anyone understand why that girl that was running against him seems to hate him so much? I guess I missed it if they got in an argument or something.

I'm glad Mr. Boy Scout is off council too. He just seemed like he was on a power trip.

I think if I got voted off the council, I'd see it as an opportunity to be eligible for the gold star.

I felt so bad for Mike that he didn't get a single vote. :(

And okay, I know she's a kid.... but how ridiculous was it for Taylor to put her "motto" (deal with it!) on her election posters?? Yeah, that'll make all the cool kids vote for you. :D

Ok..this has become my 2nd favorite reality show of all time. (my #1 favorite was "Amish in the City")

i felt so bad for Mike (red leader) last night getting kicked off council and not even getting any votes..i thought he was a good leader! what did he do that was so horrible?

What does Olivia have against Anjay? There must be stuff we haven't seen!

Wonder what some of these kids parents think when watching the show?

I would love to see Taylor's parents!! I could picture them in my head! She reminds me of someone!

I really like the Green Team..they have some great kids on their..and they taking losing in stride.

Isn't it interesting the team that loses the most is the only team that didnt want to get rid of their leader????

I have never watched a complete show yet, it always seems to be one that we pop in and out of.

But! I did see the previews for next week. Does Taylor actually kick Anjay?  That is really, really bad if she did and it sure looked like it to me.

Is there some ultimate prize to the teams once they get to the end, or is it only the chance to win the gold star? I would think they will have another election before this is all over.

It's interesting to hear some of the really good points so many of these kids make. And I did feel sorry for Mike to only get his own, 1 vote. The new council looks good to me and will be interesting to watch.

I'm quite pleased with how almost everything turned out.

Mike was not much of a leader. He was all talk (and talk and talk and talk) without much action. He loved to play leader and treated people like they were followers, not equals, which is why Greg and he got off bad right from the start (think about it; you're a 15 year old guy and a little pipsqueak of an 11 year old is bossing you around parading himself to be a hotshot. While I disagree with Greg's original method of retaliation [and I'm glad he's fixed that problem], I cannot blame him entirely for his actions either). The fact that his entire district voted against him shows that Greg, as well as obviously other non-Reds, all felt that his method of "leading" left much to be desired.

And I am so happy that Miss Prissy is gone. Cudos to the one Yellow girl who saw the light and voted to oust her. That took not only knowledge and insight, but courage. Methinks perhaps worthy of a gold star?!

I'm not too sure anymore about the leadership skills and abilities of Anjay. If he detests politics so much, then why didn't he simply voluntarily step aside? He's in a political roll, whether he likes it or not. In his place, I think one of the older kids, perhaps even Greg, would have proven to be a worthy leader and would even out the older age vacancy in the current councilship (no one older than 12?!)

The best leader has to be Miss. Green. She doesn't abuse power, cooperates with her team, and does her best to make informed decisions. The fact that she gets along with the older kids shows that she considers their advanced wisdom and intelligence before making decisions of her own. I'd say she should in fact consider a carrier in administration of some sort or even politics; she clearly has a knack.
