There is a slim chance it will come back but right now its listed as "fate to be determined". The ratings just continued to fall through out.
Then there is this info:
"Tom Forman, the executive producer, believes the program was hurt by the early controversy. “It’s not the kind of buzz you want to launch with,”.
CBS hasn’t said whether Wednesday’s “Kid Nation” was the season finale or the series finale. There is a chance — perhaps just a slim chance — that the series could return for a second season."
"But any plans for a second season “could be complicated by a new wrinkle: CBS cannot be sure it will be able to find a state whose laws will accommodate the show’s format.”
"What!? You mean in the 21st century you can’t find a state that allows parents to sell their offspring to unethical TV producers? What is the world coming to!"

"Glad to see this stupid show go. Preying on kid’s fears and insecurities for ratings is as low as it gets. Concerns were raised in the beginning for a reason and the poor ratings demonstrated that thankfully (sometimes) the viewing public does know where to draw the line with offensive television."
