What was the "low-ball" expectation for the June 25 report? -- well
1. Weather balloons
2. Temperature inversion
3. Window Glare
4. A flock of birds
5. The moon.

Turns out - NONE of that is "top secret". In fact even videos of some of the newest jet fighter technology still not in full production - is publically available from the military.

So much for "keeping those weather balloons a super secret high-tech discovery"

============= what did we get "instead"??
1. A "classified report" where the secrets must be kept from the public on these sightings.
2. A de-classified report that says "we saw something" 140 times and one of those times we a sure "it was a balloon".

So then why are the guys that saw the classified version saying this?

1. "There have been nearly 150 sightings. Eighty of the sightings were detected with some of the best technology the world has ever seen. We can't rule out something that is otherworldly,"

2. "it's troubling to him why no images or information have been released from the cameras attached to thousands of satellites currently orbiting Earth"

3. "You have to think about the nearly 4,000 satellites that are orbiting the earth right now. Most of those have satellites have cameras attached to them—why hasn't any of that information been released?"

Yeah that's right - we should be seeing "weather balloons on parade" from 1000's of sattelites as they caught all those balloons that were out maneuvering our jet fighters in restricted airspace. think of all the "peace of mind" it would bring to the public to know that weather balloons had such stunning flight capability AND to know that after all "it is all just balloons"!!

(Maybe because it is a "top secret" that our own satellites can view a weather balloon floating in our own air space"?? -- nahhh!)

4. "Carson said his primary concern is to "make sure adversaries don't have a technological edge on the U.S," but he left the door open to potential extraterrestrial activity having occurred.

Wow think about the problem of our adversaries having weather balloons!! Wouldn't that be a horrible scenario??

And of course the potential that extraterrestrials have weather balloons floating in our restricted air space and out maneuvering our jet fighters -- well I guess we can all see what a problem that would be.

Bottom line: "you can't have it BOTH ways"

from: Democratic Rep. André Carson Calls for Congressional Hearings on UFO Sightings

The Indiana Democratic lawmaker met with other members of the House Intelligence Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence and Counterproliferation Friday to discuss potential emerging threats from foreign militaries—or the possibility of potential alien activity.

Face the Nation fill-in host Ed O'Keefe acknowledged that Carson couldn't reveal the full details of the classified briefing on UFOs this week, but he asked the congressman why the words "outer space, extraterrestrial or alien" don't appear even once in the Pentagon's declassified report.

The government report was very coy about any possible extraterrestrial origins of the phenomenon, actually, simply classifying a dozen or so reports as "other" in explanation.

Just consider that the two rival superpowers to the US, Russia and China. Much of China's newer technology is reverse engineered from American technology. Russia has a crumbling military (some of their frontline jets still use vacuum tubes). Neither speaks to a power capable of producing advanced propulsion technologies that can travel through both air and water.

Let's say for example that the horrific story went around that our nation's adversaries, and the Drug cartels and also local bank robbers all had "the technology" to rob any Bank vault in America with impunity and nothing that we had today could prevent them. Our entire system of securities - is unsecured. It was wide open to them - zero ability to stop them.

Well that would be "panic in the streets".

================ so THEN the solution.

Suppose the NEXT news item said "CORRECTION: We just now found out that what that really is - was nothing more than a bunch of six year olds running along sidewalks with pink monopoly dollars and squirt guns shooting each other with blasts of water and no bank vault at all was being breached"... and they add "sorry for the alarm -- go back to doing what you were doing".

Wow what a relief!!

But then they add this "odd" comment at the end of their article of "correction" -- "We are very very worried that if this pink-monopoly money, and squirt gun technology were in the hands of our nation's adversaries, or the drug cartels, or the local bank robbers then we would have a huge problem".

Kinda makes you doubt that cover story about monopoly money and squirt guns "just a little".

I'm not sure what your point is.

Most UFO sightings are easily explained, with planetary misidentifications (Venus) being fairly common, with only a handful presenting genuine challenges. The Pentagon report on UAP's is consistent with what we've seen in the past from studies on UFO's.

Well it would be very "hard" to claim to be worried that our "adversaires might be able to view planets in our solar sytem, or that they have weather balloons"

So it is fine to claim that the Pentagon report is consistent with balloons and viewing planets in our solar system - but you really can't "add" to that - "hopefully our nation's Adversaries" or "extraterrestrials" don't have the ability to make weather balloons or to view planets in our solar system.

You also can't make a good case that identifying/observing planets in our solar system ... and or watching weather balloons should be classified as "top secret"

Furthermore when you have multiple platforms of surveillance all reporting the same facts on the same anomaly that is out maneuvering your best jet fighter pilots and you have classified it as top secret... well... the balloon story does not hold up long under those conditions.

They have put a sufficient number of conflicting claims on the table -- to merit some sort of clean up.

Nobody doubts that a sufficient number of balloons got into the mix of what is reported.. But obviously the balloon story is not the solution for what it is that can out maneuver Jet fighters and the undisputed claim that a real danger exists for the pilots and for restricted air space over our military installations with something that can out perform what we have in the sky.

There are other reasons to keep sensor data and military intelligence related to UAP's secret besides wanting to cover up little green men. Like wanting to protect performance data about American sensors on weapons system, or to keep the exact details of tactical doctrines and procedures secret.

Because vacuum tube technology doesn't cease to function in the event of nuclear fallout. It's superior technology to semiconductors under those conditions.

Wow that is what supposedly out performs the F-35 as the "Best dog fight jet"??

Russia's Su-35 Fighter: The World's Best 'Dogfighter'?.

Or is it this?

Russia's Su-57 Heavy Fighter Bomber: Is It Really a Fifth-Generation Aircraft?

There's alot of huff and puff in Russian rhetoric about their military, but the actual capabilities in the real world warrant far more skepticism.

Russia excels at asymetric threats- nuclear weapons, supercavitating and wake-homing torpedoes, that sort of thing... not in conventional aircraft. At best, one can say their military aviation capability is adequate to deter aggression.

I think you're thinking of electromagnetic pulses, not fallout.

You're avoiding the SU-35 vs F-35

US jets against SU-35 - Bing video

SU-35 can turn, run and climb faster than the F-35 -- so that is why it is said that SU-35
can out dogfight the F-35. F-35 has other features that are better - but the dogfight issue is not clearly favoring the F-35.

Anyway - my point on this thread was just that not everything we are being told appears to add up when it comes to very talented balloons.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Fallout radiation is viewed by the weapons effects community as a potentially serious impediment to maintaining or restoring critical National Security Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) tele-communication capabilities in a nuclear environment. The OMNCS' Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Mitigation Program is designed, in part, to identify the survival probability (survivability) of the nation's NSEP telecommunications infrastructure against fallout radiation effects. The OMNCS is developing a balanced approach consisting of fallout radiation stress tests on the electronic piece-parts and the use of estimated performance measures of telecommunication network elements in network simulation models to predict user connectivity levels. In this work, the EMP Mitigation Program evaluates a method-ology for addressing the effects of nuclear weapon generated fallout radiation on telecommunication network assets. While earlier work set forth this methodology, this investigation applies actual vulnerability test results to predict equipment survival probability and provides a basis for further radiation effects assessments. The implementation of this analytical method provides the OMNCS with the ability to assess radiation effects on the nation's NSEP telecommunications infrastructure. Results of this study enhance the understanding of the degrada-tion incurred by telecommunication network elements (switches and transmission facilities) as a result of fallout radiation exposure.

Sounds like a bad move by the DoD. Revealing to the world data that can be used to find possible flaws in the tracking and targeting systems of our fighter jets.

It's always dicey with these types of reports being made public. Reveal enough to please your Congressional supporters and the public without letting the cat out of the bag. That's why there's so many euphemisms in military jargon in the first place.

I don't understand all the panic. If there are aliens and they want something from me, they can abduct me and probe me in their own time. Until then, I've got better things to do than worry about this stuff.
