I hope people who made that choice get everything they voted for.

It's not just the people who voted for President Trump, all Americans will benefit under the future Administration.

Welcome to lawfare.

The only kind of "correct" here is the technical kind.
Criminal law flouting behavior, and a long history of it, makes a claim of lawfare moot.

Trump was convicted by a jury of 34 felonies. Judge Merchan has said the convictions will stand. He is not throwing them out or reversing anything. So the sentencing this Friday is a formality. Trump will be the first convicted felon to be president.
Yup - you are 100% right - and in doing so the good judge released the defense to go after the appeal.

Question: Will those crowing FELON!!! be just as vocal and vociferous if his appeal overturns the verdict. Will the same people be crowing that justice is still served and the President can no longer be referred to as a felon?

It is quite possible Merchan and Bragg won the election for Trump.

So he's convicted of a felony, but he's not a convicted felon. Is this really the split hair Trump supporters are trying to sell this time?
Why don't accept the fact that a person needs to be sentenced in order to be considered a felon in the US?

It is not a formality. A person literally needs to be sentenced in order to be considered a felon.

No, they aren't.

A person literally needs to be convicted of a felony and sentenced for it in order to be considered a felon in the US.

I don't make the rules.
You don’t document these “rules” either.

He could appeal anyway. Judge Merchan was pretty clear that the 34 convictions stand.

He is a convicted felon and it will be formal as of Friday. Trump will be the first convicted felon (34 of them) to be President.

Trump was convicted by a jury of 34 felonies. He was found guilty. Merchan is not setting those 34 felonious convictions aside, and then on Friday, the sentencing will occur.
You are straining gnats.

I didn't think I had to since everyone can look it up for themselves, but here is an MSN article explaining why he is not a felon until he is sentenced.

Then on Friday he will be a felon. He is not today.

Just like how he will not be the 47th US President until he is sworn in on Inauguration Day - despite the election being certified already.

A "Nicki Swft" article, anyway

Nicki Swift is here to give you timely news, fresh perspectives, and exclusive content about celebrity gossip, the royal family, politics, breakups, scandals, high-profile crime, and more with accuracy and edge.

Are you saying Nicki Swift can't be correct?

I choose a source that would be more critical of Trump.

Correct and a person convicted of a felony, if that conviction is overturned on appeal can no longer be called a felon.
