In an order, Merchan wrote that it is ordered "that Defendant appear for sentencing following conviction on January 10, 2025, at 9:30 in the morning, at the Courthouse located at 100 Centre Street in New York County." Merchan said that Trump could appear in person or virtually.
How sad.

Yeah, too bad voters picked a convicted felon to represent them. Oh well, hope they continue to get all that they voted for.

Judge: No penalties for Trump in New York hush money case

New York Judge Juan Mercan decided to proceed with sentencing President-elect Donald Trump's conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records while previewing that he will execute an 'unconditional discharge' and impose no penalties against Trump. CNN's Paula Reid reports.

I have a feeling you will latch on to the first Senate report that confirms your mistaken beliefs. Sadly, there are more than a few Republican Senators who are happy to obige your beliefs.

If you want to call 'unconditional discharge' a sentence ^_^
I wonder what this might become? Is this unconstitutional on the immunity decision of the U.S. supreme court? Burdening his presidency with having to appeal, to clear his name?

Although his private businesses benefitted from his official acts, signing his private business paperwork is not an official act of the presidency.

So, sad. A convicted felon is being sentenced. So very sad, indeed.
Especially since he never falsified any financial records. I think it's clear that a number of radical Democrats are trying to sabotage the decision of the American people to elect Trump president, they intend to destroy our nation if they can. I believe this last act to interfere in the presidential transition will sway the people to insist Mr. Merchan and others be held accountable and, at a minimum, be disbarred.

Certainly he falsified business records. Paying off a pornstar is not 'legal services'.

He was convicted of falsifying records in a court of law by a jury of his peers. Your statement is incorrect.

What a ridiculous pov. Again, the "Law & Order" party.

"American Conservatism consists of the following propositions; to whit, there must be two groups, one which the law binds but does not protect and one that the law protects but does not bind."

So, here we have the law binding the "wrong" group, which is the source of your disdain for the law and the judge. It's the same reason there was not internal uproar about the actions of certain members of congress, but a story everyday about the son of the president, who's not even a politician when they engaged in some of the same behaviors (drug addicts who possessed guns and were nominated to cabinet positions.)

I'd guess virtually considering he's being handed a nothingburger.
Sadly a lot of criminals get very little punishment. But he broke the law multiple times. And he's supposed to be trusted in the White House. This is disappointing. As mush as I disagree with Republicans. The vice president hasn't broke the law. And might be a better choice. At least that might mean stable people, might be running the country. But I guess people will continue to flock to Trump. And pretend his bad behavior is no big deal.

Marchan has burdened his presidency with having to appeal to clear his name and dismiss this case. Lot's of reversable error that has not been established. Lots

Democrats figured if they could pin a felony charge on Trump he would surely lose the election. Your strategy failed.

A lack of stable people running the country is why voters wanted Trump back. What they care about in a presidency is results. And they're basing that on Trump's last presidency vs the Biden presidency. And to them a Harris presidency was just going to be a similar but worse version of the Biden presidency.

Nonsense. Objectively, you were indeed incorrect.

Democrats figured if they could pin a felony charge on Trump he would surely lose the election. Your strategy failed.
Pure delusion.
