• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm perplexed -- & aggrivated

That tends to be a major point of difference between a Christian and one who is not (or not yet) saved.
1 John 1:9-10 (NASB)
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
that's odd, I just heard that on a radio sermon earlier today regarding conviction of sin.
(or lack thereof)

I know we're conservatives here and I'm preaching
to the choir...
but I cannot believe my eyes when I read posts by people
with Christian icons supporting pornography as moral!

I find this deeply disturbing

Satan easily clouds our vision when we gave ourelves to sin. Its easy to justify things like this if you deny your faith. Like Porter said, we should pray for them.

One of them is an unbeliever and the other is in fantasy land. I don't know if she is only pretending that homosexuality isn't sinful, or if she is also pretending to be a Christian too.

It shouldn't surprise you. What I find shameful is people like that can pretend to know what they are talking about and lead people astray.

Yo'ure right I should - I get more furious to see these people parading around, TEACHING about Christianity.
Another guy was promoting Christian Buddhism! How great the 8 points of Buddhism are... Dear Lord what is going on?

It's gotten so that in that ethics area, it looks more like I"m on a secular forum board :o- that's what's so disturbing. I seem to be more the minority around here just calling for regular Christian morals. God forbid.

It leads me back to my earlier complaints about anyone being able to display a Christian icon & say anything they want that's contrary to sound biblical morals & you can't say anything on the thread.

Imagine newer Christians reading that crap - or teens... I dunno,
I get infuriated at God being dragged thru the mud . What's next?

Porn is a huge lie. I am glad that by the Grace of God I was able to get away from all of that. Everything about pornography is a lie.
Well when you see the long line of men having sexual addiction problems becuz of it, I can hardly see how it's harmless.

I also wonder how many homes were ruined by it in some way.
It cheapens it, there's no doubt about that.

Oh no, she actually believes that homosexuality and all it entails is not a sin and she believes that God has blessed her relationship with her and her girlfriend and has no objection to it whatsoever.

A great resource for people who have an addiction to pornography is an audio CD from www.wayofthemaster.com called Slaying the Dragon. I recommend it highly. Even if you don't have a problem with porn, this is still a great sermon to listen to about the sanctity of marriage and how destructive pornography is, and why men are more influenecd and drawn to it than women are.

I sure know how you feel. You remember I used to post in those areas quite a bit back when we first "met". It is infinitely more frustrating to discuss these issues with people who claim to be Christians than those who at least admit (or even know) that they are not. But yes, as has been said, we need to pray for these people. Many of them actually believe they are saved and yet do not know our Lord at all. What a horrid state to be in. And what's worse, we see them leading others astray in the same deceptions.

Ya...... I guess I need to stop being so mad at wolves & false teachers for the harm they might be doing & more focused on God enlightening them to SEE the truth.

Ooooh!!! I hate it when that happens. Too bad there isn't an 'undo' button for such a calamity. I had something similar happen to me today. Since today is Reformation Day, I decided to blog about it at: http://www.blogspot.com/zecryphon and half way through the blog I hit a combo of keys that erased the whole thing!! Thank God for the 'undo' button. One little click of that button and my post was back. :)

Nadine I am sure that you know that not everyone that claims to be something is what they claim to be. For example obama said he is a Christian and then went on to say that the bible is not good for use in any government or personal decisions in ones life. There is not one true Christian that could say something like this. Therefore logic dictates that this person is not a Christian.

Now in the case of someone defending something that we all know is clearly wrong that person may or may not be a Christian, only God knows that. But a shadow of doubt is cast on that person. Hopefully they are merely misled and can be rescued. Another issue for some is that lust can grow a stronghold in a person which makes it difficult to overcome. Prayer and surrender to the Lord can remove such a stronghold or at least help that person overcome it. However defending something we know is wrong is a hard pill to swallow and believe it is innocent.

You should use Firefox and one of the extensions that allows you to "Undo Close Tab."

I just verified that it works by closing this tab before posting, then undoing the close. My typing was still there.

hmmmmmmmmmm I do have Firefox, I just don't have it set as my browser right now.
I always wondered what that close tab thing was & why when I close the page I get a box popup that asks if I really want to close out more than 1 tab.

thanks for the info =0)

I'm not sure that "Undo" feature is built-in. You may have to go to the Mozilla add-ons page and download an extension to get that.

Gotta love the extensions. Extensions rock. I have over a dozen that I use all the time.

I am curious:
I'M CURIOUS TOO RAUF

ARE YOU A CONSERVATIVE? I just another post of yours here that basically suppors abortion as not being murder either.

So far I see 2 posts of yours posted in CC that aren't conservative. If I wanted
to chat with liberalism, I'd head to WWMC or the ethics area.
This is not the forum for liberalism
