Can you verify that it is false? There was a big stink about joint ELCA/Catholic services in a parish in the Western US; I know of another couple of ELCA parishes where inter communion is common with their local Catholic community. It is even happening in a town 8 miles away; Lutherans communing in a Catholic Church, and the Priest knows it. The Catholic Church in Germany is notoriously liberal, and there is likely at least a thread of truth at a local level if not country wide.
Those shouldn’t be happening per our catechism. Not surprised its happening though.

Now if you want something that's a real outlier, try this one for size. A church whose worship services are described as "five-hour jam sessions interspersed with liturgy, sermons, and fellowship." Originally the "One Mind Temple Evolutionary Transitional Church of Christ, St. John Coltrane Memorial Branch"; now called "St. John's African Orthodox Church, Jurisdiction of the West, Apostolic Succession by Favor of Ignatius Peter III, Patriarch of Antioch." They literally canonized the late jazz legend John Coltrane, inspired by the place of spirituality in his overcoming drug addiction.
Read the entire webpage linked here. It's more than a little off the center bubble.

I knew there were some orthodox offshoots, but I wasn't aware of this one! Wow.

The church in question is not Orthodox and indeed by incorrectly claiming to be Orthodox very nearly made it onto this list.

The “African Orthodox Church” is the one instance where unfortunately Rene Villatte did resort to simony owing to severe poverty on his end. Rene Vilatte is a tragic figure, for he sought to do some good, and was legitimately ordained by the Syriac Orthodox church in India, but later was deposed after violating an instruction of theirs not to ordain or participate in the ordination of any bishops without specific approval from the Patriarch or the Holy Synod. This violation occurred only after he wound up being severely mistreated by a vindictive low church bishop (after he had previously had a very good relationship with that bishop’s predecessor, a high church Episcopalian bishop of the same diocese, that of Fond-du-Lac).

Thanks for the info! I know the "true orthodox church" is not Orthodox either.
