But I think it wouldn't be wise to eat food offered to idols.
    I think I wouldn't.

In India food is still offered to idols (i.e. to Krishna), but I think I wouldn't eat it.
Thank you for the verse in 1 Cor. (We're talking here about 1 Corinthians Chapter 8 here). I didn't know that and I've always thought that Christians actually aren't allowed to eat food offered to idols at all.
Anyway, so far I haven't thought much about it, as there are hardly no pagans (except Hinduism and maybe some tribal religions) that offer food to idols. - But Acts 15 came into my mind when I first heard about the Hare Krishna cult and read their books and became to know that they indeed offer meals to their idol Krishna.

    I love Indian food. :)
I hope the meals at my favourite Indian restaurant aren't offered to the Gods first. ;)
At least they have a lot of statues of Hindu-Gods in their restaurant (I've seen Ganesha and Shiva so far. Maybe also Krishna and Vishnu. I never can distinguish between these two and Shiva. )

Intersting that you don't get heartburn from curry?
Actually I'd have thought that you get heartburn from curry, and not from the other Indian dishes...

Interesting. I've never gotten heartburn so far when I was at my favourite Indian restaurant.

And indeed, everything there tastes delicious there. I need to go there once again soon. ;)

They did NOT say all foods are now clean. You need to read correctly and understand why some birds, fish and animals were not created to be eaten.

    There are?
Well, if they are poisonous I can understand that. But I think that everything that is not poisonous can be eaten, if you don't disgust yourself from, like from locusts, snails, spiders, snakes or maggots or various other insects.

And what is your interpretation of Acts 10 then? What can and should be eaten by men and what not?

Dietary fool laws in Islam and Judaism:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashrut

    Kashrut

Kashrut (also kashruth or kashrus, כַּשְׁרוּת‬) is a set of Jewish religious dietary laws. Food that may be consumed according to halakha (Jewish law) is termed kosher (/ˈkoʊʃər/ in English, Yiddish: כּשר‎), from the Ashkenazi pronunciation of the Hebrew term kashér (כָּשֵׁר‬), meaning "fit" (in this context, fit for consumption).

Among the numerous laws that form part of kashrut are the prohibitions on the consumption of certain animals (such as pork, shellfish [both Mollusca and Crustacea], and most insects, with the exception of certain species of kosher locusts), mixtures of meat and milk, and the commandment to slaughter mammals and birds according to a process known as shechita. There are also laws regarding agricultural produce that might impact the suitability of food for consumption.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halal

    Halal

The most common example of haram (non-halal) food is pork (pig meat products).
While pork is the only meat that categorically may not be consumed by Muslims (the Quran forbids it,[6] Sura 16:115 [7]) other foods not in a state of purity are also considered haram.

The criteria for non-pork items include their source, the cause of the animal's death, and how it was processed. It also depends on the Muslim's madhab.

Whoever nullifies the least commandment shall be the least Matthew 5:19, those eating swines flesh shall not be priests. Hosea 4:6 Isaiah 66:17

    Noah was a preacher of Righteousness 2 Peter 2:5 - Psalms 119:142

YHWH commanded that 7 pairs of the Clean Animals went into Ark and one pair of the Unclean Genesis 7:2

Where do we find Noah being told what is Clean and Unclean in the Scriptures? We Don't, but obviously he knew the difference.

Abraham Kept the Torah and Never offered an unclean animal as a Sacrifice unto YHWH Genesis 26:5

Peter said to "be Holy for He is Holy" which is a direct quote from the chapter of what is Clean and Unclean - what is food and what is not food 1 Peter 1:16, Leviticus 11:44

Those that are still Eating Swines flesh shall be consumed at the second Coming. Isaiah 66:15 Isaiah 66:17

    How was the Torah Changed.

The Priesthood was changed, YHWH found fault with the them Hebrews 8:8, He did Not find fault with His EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS Psalms 119:142

The only Difference Is that now when someone breaks His Torah, they don't have to go to a priest, who first has to offer sacrifices for his own sins.

but unto a High Priest that is separate from sinners that Forever Lives to make intercession for His People. Adonai YESHUA Mashiach

The Priesthood was Changed, Nothing Else.

His Righteousness Remains the same yesterday, today and forever, He changes not

The most popular thing that is consumed by christians on easter - Swine's Flesh (an abomination)

ishtar also proclaimed that because a pig killed tammuz, that a pig must be eaten on that Sunday.

    OY VEY

The foreshadowing of the Abomination of Desolation was when antiochus epiphanies sacrificed a pig upon the Altar of Elohim

Do you not know that you are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, Unless you fail the test. Matthew 7:23, 2 Peter 2:21

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but 1 Corinthians 8:8 says, But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better: neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

I have to say that I have not been perfect in abstaining from pork-based foods in my years of desiring to eat only what is clean according to the Old Testament.

Now I am not condemned by this, because according to 1 Timothy 4:1-6 every creature of God is good and nothing to be refused, because it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

However there is another principle in the Bible that applies to this subject. And that is, first of all, knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. I may have the knowledge that all things are clean according to what Paul said in Romans 14:14, but if I eat what is unclean in front of my Jewish brother or sister, whose conscience would condemn them if they were to eat the same, then I may embolden my Jewish brother or sister to eat what would condemn them in their conscience if they were to eat it. In doing this, I would be sinning against Christ, and my weaker brother might perish for whom Christ died. Read 1 Corinthians 8 (whole chapter), and Romans 14 (whole chapter, esp. vs. 13, 15, 19-21) and also, especially, Romans 15:1.

I may be a stronger brother who has the liberty to eat unclean foods without a qualm of conscience, and if I am that brother, God is able to make me stand (Romans 14:4). Nevertheless, as a stronger brother, I am called to not please myself but to bear the infirmities of my weaker brother (again, Romans 15:1). That means that I must not offend my weaker brother's conscience by eating what is unclean within the knowledge of my weaker brother.

If I have faith that I can eat what the Old Testament defines as unclean without condemnation, I am to have that faith to myself before God (Romans 14:22), and not impose my view on the matter to my weaker brother (Romans 14:13-23). He may not be able to handle such a view as that; he may be emboldened to eat what his conscience does not truly allow him to eat; and in his conscience might feel condemned: and the devil could use that in his life to drive him to discouragement through the heaping of condemnation. See 2 Corinthians 2:11.

Therefore, as I said before, knowledge puffeth up, but charity (love) edifieth. Therefore if I have knowledge that gives me the liberty to eat a carnitas burrito at Del Taco, I will refrain for the sake of my weaker brother, because that is what love might require of me.

What is the Context, The context is not what is Food, that has already been settled, nowhere is swine's flesh sanctified by the word of God as Food, so it doesn't matter how much you pray over it, just like puppies and kittens are not Food

Just Because someone eats it, that does not make it food Biblically

The context of the verse you shared, Is about meat offered to idols, Cows, goats, sheep that are FOOD

    1 Corinthians 8:7

Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

They are defiled by the thought of the idol, not the meat that was eaten

So you will have to do better at making a point for not being Holy than this example.

    1 Corinthians 8:13
Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

Now if eating meat sacrificed to idols offends the weak, Paul decides, no meat whatsoever.

Wherein today, mistranslated to mean, I'm having my BLT and if you don't like it, you're a Pharisee and have fallen from Grace.

    How bizarre.

Jesus clearly kept TORAH always and Jesus Says much about TORAH in the NT as well as in the OT. Jesus obviously observes Yahweh's Appointed 7th Day Sabbath,
perfectly. Jesus was circumcised, as were all His Jewish disciples.

IF anyone had faith that keeping TORAH was enough to save them, then nothing could help them.

See how wrong and mixed up it is to pervert that to saying 'if anyone honors Yahweh by faith in Jesus and lives His Life trusting and relying on Yahweh for Salvation and as His son continues to be obeying His commands' they will be lost !?
