The reason you dont understand that verse, is because you dont understand the context of this phrase

"do the will of God".

See, you dont know what this is, so you improvise and recreated it as Legalism, or = "works that i do, or commandments and law that im supposed to keep".

But that is not the verse's context.
The verse is explaining to you : John 14:6.

The verse is defining why you go to Heaven or not. And that is by doing the will of God, which is to "all that call on the name of Jesus, shall be saved".

See, the will of God is the WORK God has for you to do.
And this is the verse...>"The work of God, is that YOU BELIEVE ON JESUS WHOM GOD SENT">

See that WORK.
Notice that there is no law or commandment keeping or discipleship involved.

There is your WILL of God, defined as the WORK of God. = BELIEVE.. (FAITH).
Justification by Faith, or "faith is counted AS Righteousness".

The will of God is given by Jesus and defined in that same set of verses. You'd like it to be something done by God, but it's not. In fact, if you don't do what Jesus tells you to do, Jesus will tell you He never knew you because you are workers of anomia.

Can you say that you believe Jesus and not keep His commandments? No. In fact, Jesus says that those who don't love Him don't keep His commandments. Are you sure you want to be judged by Kingdom Law?

John 16:6 isn't Why you go to Heaven, it's the Way you get to Heaven. The definition's right there in the same set of verses... which happens a whole lot more often than people seem to want to acknowledge.

Your quoted John 6:29 verse is followed by a bunch of verses all culminating in this:
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Which is explained by this:
John 1:1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...

And all goes back to this:

Paul , and all the Apostles believed that Christ was about to Return.
So, this is one reason why Paul said for us to consider not getting married.
Its because as He teaches....>"you'll have more trouble in this world", if you are married.

So, Paul is explaining, .....that the most perfect discipleship is to be wholly invested into the service of God, and you can't be this, if you are taking care of the wife and 4 kids.

So, Paul was always very SOLD OUT, to the point of being a Martyr in the end, and that is why he had no WIFE., and from this point of view, He allows for us to consider a life of Total service to God, total dedication to this pursuit.... that is only found by being celibate/unmarried.

Really odd that Paul would have thought so, but the Thessalonian verses sure look like he expected to be alive when Jesus returned. Some say that's a false prophecy.

John never thought Jesus was coming back in that way, given John 21:23 and the Revelation.

Matthew 19:7-12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven's sake. He that is able to receive, let him receive.

No I’m just saying that I find it amazing that you have so many people printing your threads because they like them so much but yet none of them give a like or agree rating to any of your posts. I mean I get likes, agree, and winner ratings all the time and I've been on CF for almost 4 years now and no one has ever said they are going to print my thread or post. In fact I’ve never seen anyone say they were going to print anyone’s post so I find it so amazing that you already have many people printing your threads and you’ve only been on CF for a month. That’s an interesting theory about the author of Hebrews. I wasn’t aware that the church had an official stance on who the author was but I wouldn’t be surprised if it were Barnabas. I’ve always thought it had a sort of Pauline ambiance to it and Barnabas spending so much time traveling with Paul would explain their similarities.

Yes. As for who wrote it, that issue is still up for grabs... but the winners, in my mind, are the ones who notice that Hebrews is an unsigned letter, and that Paul was not an Apostle to the Circumcision. For him to openly write such a thing, he would have admitted to poaching on what he considered to be James, Peter, and John's stewardship... which agreement he admits had happened early on, as recorded in the first letter Paul ever wrote.

Ever read John 8 and Matthew 23? Do you understand any of the parables? None of these things are considered "nice" by the people being castigated in them. In fact, "How long shall I be with you?" isn't generally thought of as being particularly "nice".
But Jesus is unfailingly honest and entirely without guile.

John 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, "We have found Him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." 46 And Nathanael said unto him, "Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?" Well, let me rightly divide this verse for you so that you can see it.

Notice it says....>"does not remain in me".


See that?
So, who does not remain in God, "in Christ"?
All that are not in Him, but are this...."depart from me, i never knew you"..

And these people are casting out devil's in Jesus's Name.
See that?
They are all about Jesus, yet, are not in Him, and so, do not remain.

Some seed fell on Good ground, and some fell on what didn't remain.

So, these are the religious but lost, who are trying to imitate Christ and be like Christ, yet, they are not "IN HIM">....so they can't remain because they were never "ONE WITH GOD , In Christ' to begin with.
So, your verse is teaching that to be born again, is how you "ReMAIN"< and if you are not, you are cast aside as a branch., in this SYMBOLIC VERSE.

An old one?
You'll find these old old Trees, and you see that some of the attached branches are DEAD.
Yet, they are still attached.
So, what is the issue? Why is the Tree alive, but some branches are dead?
Its because some branches are getting no SAP from the ROOT.
They have NO LIFE from the TREE.

And likewise, a person can be extremely RELIGIOUS and talk about JESUS and the Bible, but they are not IN HIM, and So, this person has no ROOT, because = they have no HOLY SPIRIT IN THEM.
Yet, the can quote verses incorrectly, and they can live in Church.
Some even start their own denominations, yet, they were never "IN CHRIST", ...and if you are not in Christ, you can't remain, as you are a dead branch, pretending to be a live one.
To remain in Christ is only if you are BORN AGAIN, as that is how you ABIDE and REMAIN.

So, if you are truly Spiritually Born again, by God's Spirit, then you should have no worries about going to hell.
And as i have carefully explained to people who read what i am actually teaching.....God does not send you to hell, or the Lake of Fire.
He only accepts that you chose to go there, in the end, because you did not Receive Christ and become born again, before you died.

Ok, and didn't put to death the deeds of the flesh and didn't persevere or endure to the end, weren't vigilant, didn't strive to be perfect and holy, maybe didn't feed any of the hungry or clothe the naked, broke commandments, even if they were born again. As Scripture says, right?

Paul teaches in Galatians Chapter 3-5, that a believer, born again, can "fall from Grace".

This is not to lose salvation......its to depart from Faith in Christ to faith in trying to stay saved by self effort.

So, If this person we are discussing is born again, then that is permanent.
They will go to heaven, yet, ....their faith can be so broken, that they are living as if they are an unbeliever trying to find a way to get God to keep them, if they can just be good enough, they BELIEVE.

That's not quite what he said. He said when he teaches publicly people take notes. And the way to take notes when he's teaching on a forum, is to print out his threads. My guess is, like me, he's been on other forums over the years.

I didn't notice any hostility, just gentle and good humoured, in the main, bantering but this is because this is a discussion forum, not a platform for one person to ’teach' others. The blogs may be more appropriate for that.
