We can prove it by our love for Jesus
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
(John 14:15)
“He who has My commandments and keeps them,
it is he who loves Me.” (John 14:21)
“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word”
(John 14:23)
“When you obey My commandments,
you remain in My love” (John 15:10)
“You are My friends, if you do whatever
I command you.” (John 15:14)
We prove our love for Jesus by obeying His commandments.
We are Jesus’ friends, if we obey His commandments.
Who gets to heaven who does not love Jesus?
Who gets to heaven who is not Jesus’ friend?
We can prove it by practicing righteousness
“Little children, let no one deceive you.
He who practices righteousness is righteous,
just as He is righteous … In this the children of God
and the children of the devil are manifest:
Whoever does NOT practice righteousness is NOT of God, NOR is he who does NOT love his brothers/sisters.” (1 John 3:7-10)
We can prove it by loving our fellow believers
See 1 John 3:10 above.
We can prove it by being slaves of God
“… you are that one’s slaves whom you obey,
whether (slaves) of sin leading to (eternal) death,
or (slaves) of obedience leading to righteousness?
… so now present your members as
slaves of righteousness for holiness.
… But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.”
(Romans 6:16-22)
BACs have been set free from slaves of sin and Satan!
BACs must choose to actually be slaves of obedience,
slaves of righteousness, and slaves of God.
We can prove it by our good deeds (our works)
Jesus says in Matthew 25:31-46 …
● The righteous feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, take in strangers, clothe the naked, visit the sick and those in prison … the righteous will enter into eternal life!
● The unrighteous do NOT do these things, and He will say to them,
“Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels”.
James says in James 2:15-26 …
“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says
he has faith but does not have works?
… faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
… I will show you my faith by my works
… faith without works is dead
… by works faith was made perfect
… You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
… For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
What is necessary for having True Saving Faith?
True Saving Faith = enduring Belief, Trust, Obedience, Works … NO habitual sinning
(w/o repentance)
