That's the law isn't it?So are you saying if you are not physically circumcised, you cant be saved?
Circumcision on the other hand, is a Mt Sinai commandment and the sabbath is
also a Mt Sinai commandment. You cannot take one commandment from the
Mt Sinai law, then disregard another commandment from that same law. If you
are under the law Saan, which it seems you are, then you must follow all the
commandments given in the law. You cannot pick and choose which commandments
to follow.
No one in the history of the law given at Mt Sinai, was ever free to pick and
choose from among the commandments. You are either under the law or you
are not under the law. If you are under the ten commandments, then you are
most definitely under all the commandments of Mt Sinai.
An example Saan, I am under the commandment to abstain from fornication,
I am not under the Mt Sinai commandment, 'thou shall not commit adultery'.
I do not pursue the Mt Sinai commandments (the law), for the purpose of hopefully
measuring up to God's requirements (self righteousness). I follow the Lord's commandments
strictly, because I am already saved (declared righteous) in Christ.
Hello Saan.
Salvation is a free gift from God to all who believe in Jesus Christ, this
truth is above and beyond, any requirement of the Mt Sinai law.
If you use the commandments as a guide to what constitutes sin, then you are
not under the this Mt Sinai law.
An example Saan, I am under the commandment to abstain from fornication,
I am not under the Mt Sinai commandment, 'thou shall not commit adultery'.
There is a vast difference between these two commandments. One is from
the Mt Sinai law, the other is the Lord's specific commandment to the Gentiles.
I do not pursue the Mt Sinai commandments (the law), for the purpose of hopefully
measuring up to God's requirements (self righteousness). I follow the Lord's commandments
strictly, because I am already saved (declared righteous) in Christ.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:1Which of the ten Commandments are you not subject to? Just curious...
It seems your understanding of what 'being under the law' is what is causing the problem.
Here's what the greek word "under" used in this text means...
G5259
ὑπό
hupo
hoop-o'
A primary preposition; under, that is, with verbs (the agency or means, through);
This then means that we are not saved under or 'through' the Law but we are saved under or 'through' Grace. The Law was never given as means of salvation, not even to the Israelites and it isn't today. When we sin, the Law is what condemns us, for sin is the "transgression of the Law". When we are in Christ, abiding under (through) His Grace, we are not in a state of sin and therefore not condemned by the Law. So, as we can see here, we are under the Law (condemned by it) when we have in our hearts any unrepented sin. When we repent and plead the atoning blood of Christ to cleanse us from that sin, we are again 'under' His Grace and not subject to the condemnation of the Law for we are righteous in Him.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:1
Sorry but the law doesn't condemn me a Christian.
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; I Tim 1
The law isn't instruction for the godly but the wicked.

We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.
If you apply the law to someone else and not yourself, you won't get any benefit from it.
Here's what the proper use of the law will get you.
Galatians chapter 3 verses 24,25,23
So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.
Look how useless the law is if you apply it to other people, like the hypocrites do.

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. he will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and got visit you? The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me. Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.They also will answer, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you? He will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me. Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.

Romans chapter 9 verses 30-Romans chapter 10 verse 4
What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. As it is written: See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame. Brothers my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are Zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own the did not submit to God's righteousness, Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
The end of the law (telo nomou). Christ put a stop to the law as a means of salvation ( James 6:14 ; James 9:31 ; Ephesians 2:15 ; Colossians 2:14 ) as in Luke 16:16 . Christ is the goal or aim of the law ( Galatians 3:24 ). Christ is the fulfilment of the law ( Matthew 5:17 ; Romans 13:10 ; 1 Timothy 1:5 ). But here (Denney) Paul's main idea is that Christ ended the law as a method of salvation for "every one that believeth" whether Jew or Gentile. Christ wrote finis on law as a means of grace.
But the one thing you keep forgetting is your not sinless, and never will be.I give you:
Rom 8
3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the Law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

"do we then make void the Law of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we ESTABLISH the LAW" Rom 3:31
And you give me - Romans 9:30-10:4 "As if" these texts do not fit.
We have this saying -- "the ends justify the means", where "end" does NOT mean "cessation of all things" but it means the goal/the final result, the desired result.
Even your own pro-sunday Bible scholars have already resolved it for you - and they claim Romans 9:30-10:4 fits perfectly with Rom 3:31 -- as follows.
Rom 10:4
Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible
Robert Jamieson, A. R. Fausset and David Brown and published in 1871.
Jamieson, Fausset and Brown –
4. For Christ is the end--the object or aim. of the law for—justifying righteousness to every one that believeth--that is, contains within Himself all that the law demands for the justification of such as embrace Him, whether Jew or Gentile
John Calvin – Geneva Study Bible
10:4 3 For Christ [is] the c end of the law for righteousness to d every one that believeth.
(3) The proof: the law itself points to Christ, that those who believe in him should be saved. Therefore the calling to salvation by the works of the law, is vain and foolish: but Christ is offered for salvation to every believer.
Matthew Henry (concise)
Verses 1-4 The Jews built on a false foundation, and refused to come to Christ for free salvation by faith, and numbers in every age do the same in various ways. The strictness of the law showed men their need of salvation by grace, through faith. And the ceremonies shadowed forth Christ as fulfilling the righteousness, and bearing the curse of the law. So that even under the law, all who were justified before God, obtained that blessing by faith, whereby they were made partakers of the perfect righteousness of the promised Redeemer. The law is not destroyed, nor the intention of the Lawgiver disappointed; but full satisfaction being made by the death of Christ for our breach of the law, the end is gained. That is, Christ has fulfilled the whole law, therefore whoever believeth in him, is counted just before God, as much as though he had fulfilled the whole law himself. Sinners never could go on in vain fancies of their own righteousness, if they knew the justice of God as a Governor, or his righteousness as a Saviour.

Your speculation at that is what has handed you your grand contradiction not only between the way you have bent Rom 10:4 vs Rom 3:31 and Rom 8:4-9,, but also the grand contradiction between your speculation above - and your own pro-sunday Bible scholars.
Clearly we differ - I hold that all of those texts I keep quoting and you keep ignoring - are true... to this very day.
And that tiny part that you quote of 1 Tim 1 is also true.
"To the LAW and to the Testimony if THEY speak not according to this WORD there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20.
Is it your claim that God is not using the LAW correctly - or that Isaiah is not??
Is Paul or the Holy Spirit in error in Romans 8 as quote above according to "your rule"?
Is Christ in error in Mark 7:6-13 according to "your rule"?
But the one thing you keep forgetting is your not sinless, and never will be.
Can New Covenant saints afford to ignore this??
Rev 14:12 - "the saints KEEP The Commandments of God AND their faith in Jesus"
1 John 5
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and His Commandments are not grievous.
1 Cor 7:19 .. "what matters is keeping the Commandments of God"
Rom 13
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
9 For this,
Thou shalt not commit adultery,
Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Thou shalt not covet;
and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Lev 19:18)
10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

James 2
8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, ou shall love your neighbor as yourself, (Lev 19:18) you are doing well.
9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
11 For He who said, [/FONT]
Do not commit adultery
also said,
Do not commit murder.
Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty

Matt 5
17 Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Jer 31:
31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—
32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord.
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Heb 8
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.
8 Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—
9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
11 None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete

What law? The Law that condemns all mankind as sinners -
Rom 3
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

Ten Commandments spoken by Christ at Sinai - Ex 20. Heb 8:6-10
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
I don't know of any believer in Jesus Christ that advocates that the commandments of God (in their proper context) can or should be ignored.
You don't understand because you drive people away from god, because you sin and will always sin even if you try very hard not to.That is not a negation of Romans 8 because Romans 8 does not say 'the saints have never sinned' It says that the life of the saint is a life of obedience to God - not a life of rebellion against the Word of God,... the LAW of God.

So also does Rom 3:31 affirm it as we have seen.

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Cor 7:19 .. "what matters is keeping the Commandments of God"
So also does Romans 6 demand it.
But the one thing you keep forgetting is your not sinless, and never will be.
You don't understand because you drive people away from god,
1 Timothy chapter 1 verse7, 8
They want to be teachers of the law but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.
Everyone sins and always will I don't know why you can't understand that. That is not a negation of Romans 8 because Romans 8 does not say 'the saints have never sinned' It says that the life of the saint is a life of obedience to God - not a life of rebellion against the Word of God,... the LAW of God.
