I have no problem with a gay couple adopting a child as long as they can provide for the child. Gay couples don't do anything that some married staight couples do in their bedrooms. Whats the difference?

ACLU launches campaign against Florida's gay adoption ban

FT. LAUDERDALE - State officials say Governor Jeb Bush and the state agency in charge of adoptions have received 630,000 e-mails in three days from people opposed to the state’s ban on gay adoptions.

The e-mail drive is part of a multimedia campaign the American Civil Liberties Union is launching today against the Florida law. The campaign includes a book explaining why the organization wants to give gays the right to adopt. There’s also leadership from talk show host Rosie O’Donnell, who is an adoptive parent with a home in Miami.

The ACLU is also asking a federal appeals court to overturn the state’s ban on gay adoptions. A federal district judge in Miami upheld the law in August. Florida is the only state with a law prohibiting all gay people from adopting. But it doesn’t bar gays from being foster parents.

(This article was found at http://www.wtsp.com/news/2002_03/14_gay_adoption.htm)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

For those who aren't familiar with the ACLU, (American Civil Liberties Union) They're a large ultraliberal organization who wages legal battles for causes such as removing "In God We Trust" (our national motto) and prayer from schools, women's "right to choose" (or the right to choose murder to be more accurate) and just about everything else that even references God. They are also very pro-homosexual.

Obviously, it would be tragic if Florida's ban on homosexual adoption was repealed. Children should have the right to be adopted by both a mother AND a father. This is crucial for a child to be socially well adjusted. Homosexuals do not have the right to impose an unnatural and unbalanced upbringing on any child. Its cruel to imagine a confused child forced to have two moms or two dads.

Please help!! Here's what we can do:

    1. Take a moment from your day and Pray! God is definitely on our side. Read Genesis chapter 19 regarding the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Our prayer should be that God will have mercy on the parentless children and that our lawmakers and judges will not be swayed. Proverbs 31:8 "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves"

    2. Forward this message in an email to all your friends and carbon copy the following list of Florida Lawmakers and ACLU chapters:

    Romans 1:24-32
24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I know exactly what you mean Project 86. I dislike when people try to change christianity to their modern society. especially when they rewrite the bible. no need for change. It was written in a specific way for a reason. Because God wanted it that way and not to be changed or updated by different ways of thinking.

    1Corinthians6:9
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites.

    1Corinthians6:11-13
But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral,or covetous, or an idolator, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner- not even to eat with such persons.
For what have I to do with judging those on the outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?
But those who are outside God judges. Therefore "PUT AWAY FROM YOURSELVES THE EVIL PERSON."

How can you SAY that?????????? SEXUAL PREFERENCE has EVERYTHING to do with bringing up a child in the way he (or she) should go! A homosexual bringing up a child is, by the very way he or she lives their life, teaching the child that homosexuality is just an "alternate lifestyle". BULL-ony!

By the way, will you also stand up for the rights of THIS person:

gaiety is not a denomination. It is an unGodly lifestyle. Should all people who are not Christians be prohibited from having children, even though they may be good people? Scary conclusion......

    rollin,
All I would say is that, I am as equally devoted to my beliefs on society and its laws as you are on anything else.

Do not mistake being 'anchored deep' with being stubbornly blind to anyone else's point of view.

any Christian should much rather a child be raised by a loving homosexual couple than be abused and neglected.

thanks for agreeing with me on that point. Not even my husband does. And just because you are a Christian does not mean you are a good parent. There are crackpots in every sector. Look at those people in --i think it was Georgia --where the whole church was into beating kids.

Where did you miss the part where I said, "we are not talking about Christians"

We do not have the right to tell non Christians that they must live by Christian standards"

You are welcome. As I said before, my wife grew up in foster care, and she can tell more than a few horror stories about horrific conditions and/ or abuse in foster homes that were run by supposedly Christian people.

I argue for the rights of EVERYONE, as human beings. When society seeks to defame us for our beliefs, I speak up. When society seeks to limit the freedoms of any other group, I speak up. Regardless of whether I like them or not. It takes a great deal of integrity and a grain of salt to argue evenly across the board for everyone, even those you don't agree with. But I do it, because I truly love everyone. Even when I hate the sin they commit.

The saying goes: 'Love the sinner,Hate the sin' But in the attitudes of most Christians I have met and talked with on this and similar subjects, their attitude seems to be: 'Hate the sin, then say you love the sinner. Then look down upon them, talk about how evil they are and how we are much better than that, then ostracize them so that they may see the error of their ways. That will teach those dirty sinners.'
