Does your faith need protecting? As I mostly post in the previously open forums even before deconversion, I don't get the attitude of those wanting to be cloistered in Christian communes, and relegate unbelievers to the basement.
DO YOU FIND ENJOYMENT IN GETTING SLAMMED & ATTACKED continually in a forum when just trying to discuss Christian topics?
If not, then you'll soon find out that you DO need rules of protection for your faith IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY DISCUSSION.

Before coming to CF, I had come out of just that environment, and it was SO bad eventually, that 99% of the Christians left to find new places to debate/chat.

YES, you do need forum protections so you can at least enjoy discussing.
example:
I was just in an "Abstinance" thread where I was discussing the medical/mental health dangers of premarital sex - then used a bunch of verses & Bible principles on how God doesn't condone it.
The ATHEIST posting in that Christian section then replied, "don't give me the religious hype about it"....

When you erase GOD from having any authority over morality or truth here, YOUR DEBATES ARE GOING SECULAR and to secular observation, AND THEN PROVING YOUR GOD IS RIGHT so that you can even use your faith in posts.

I've already been thru this. That is probly the way it will go outside Christians banding together to do something about it (or just bail out of CF).

We shall see.

It looks like it HAS started to go secular... when it had a directly CHRISTIAN name using Christ, then that gets removed to a GENERIC NAME, IT'S GOING BACKWARDS, AND AWAY from being Christ centered as it was.

Having "Christ" in the name does not make something Christ centered.

Having policies, attitudes, and actions that resemble the teachings of Jesus Christ do make something Christ-centered regardless of what you call it.

All in all, I think the name change was unnecessary and likely a waste of money but it doesn't all of the sudden take Christ out of the picture.

I tend to think Jesus is a bit bigger than that ;)

I've not read a single post by an atheist salivating over the name change. Christians pushed for the name change because they didn't like the changes of 7/7/07 for many reasons.
I know I was one of those pushing for a name change. I think it is accurate to say that "those" he received messages from were Christians.

As soon as I saw this name change, my desire to post here as frequently stopped. The reason I found CF was doing a search for CHRISTIAN forums/fellowship/message boards. Why be lukewarm? There is no appeal in that. If I wanted regular forums, they are ALL over the internet....I came here because I thought it was different.

Very disappointed in this change.

I found Christian Forums the same way.

I am saddened that political correctness and humanitic world views have infiltrated the heart of the head of CF. A price will be paid. We should pray for Erwin.

How does one maintain Christian principles among non Christians?

How does one maintain Christian principles without Christian leadership and principles ?

2Cr 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Try loving your neighbors as well as your christian brothers and sisters. Did God just suffer for christians?

Considering your past habit of engaging in heresy hunting yourself, I find this humorous in a sad sort of way.
You seem to breaking Erwin's number rule here CaDan, SHOW LOVE, not name and character assassinations.

At least try to start this out right! rofl:kiss:

Sorry Christ was forgotten on 777 at least as far as this site is concerned. I appreciate that Erwin listened to reason and realized that this was no longer a distinctively Christian site and removed the name of my Savior.

'the great commission'?

.................. social networking , oh baby !!

Is God's Great Commission limited to "social networking". We are just trying to limit God by focusing on Christians and forget the rest of the world.

You are correct . I agree. Perhaps doing this on June 6th of 2006 would have been more appropriate. Then we would never forget the date the devil infiltrated this wonderful place...

I'm disappointed.

that's all I care to say about it all. :sigh:

ok, I will say one other thing...

why couldn't the name be changed to something like Christian Outreach Forums? I think a title such as that would incorporate option 1 (a Christian forum) and option 2 (we as Christians reaching out to the non-Christians here).

bottom line is the word "Christian" or "Christ" should have stayed in the title. :(
