I agree. If I'd known this in April I might have waited or at least paid only a short subscription instead of 5 years. I have no option now - I am, like it or not, supporting this with my money, and what I believed I was paying into has gone.

I agree.
I'm actually glad I didn't do a multi year support.

I gave the site a chance, and just saw it fall  :(

This truly breaks my heart. My husband and I came to this forum with high expectations and have met some great people. As I said before (when this was all being talked about as "maybe happening in the future"), this is just the start before it becomes a fully secular forum.

They took prayer out of the public schools - and look where that got us today.

This is why my husband and I withdrew our CF site support.
I can't think of any Christian that would want non-believers leading children in prayer. Since schools can't discriminate against us (yet) and I have been a teacher I'd not want to be leading and wouldn't lead a prayer to a God I do not believe in. I don't understand why the prayer being kicked out of school thing is brought up over and over by believers.

Even if this WAS a result of a popular vote, 1) Popular vote doesn't determine what's right, only what's popular, and 2) Just look at the threads and posts, a lot of Mods, SuperMods, and Staff are just as suprised, so nothing was communicated well to ANYONE about this.

It really feels like this vote was staged to get a desired result. Can anyone point to the original poll that resulted in this outcome?

Um, what changed?
Did you read?
Where do you see Christ's name?
We are no longer a Christ centered message board, but one of a social club!
That changed!
It's always been a social club.

Although I do wish we still were called Christian Forums not to mention I wonder what is going to happen to the mdse. This seems to be a very serious step.

Good Grief! Look at all you Christians complaining about a name?? Where does it say in the Bible that we are to seclude ourselves from society? (Unequally yoked means don’t marry! Not hide your light!) Every single day we should be prepared to answer what we believe and why. Every single place we find ourselves, and to every one. We are to go out and witness. Not “preach” not “condemn” but SHOW that we believe in our faith.

Where is your faith? Do you not believe God is greater than any problems set before you?

I think Erwin made a good choice. There is no question in my mind he is leaving this to God. I am certainly not going to discourage that. I hope to see things get better and better from here. If you are a Christian that feels that you just cannot handle it, then go. I hate to see it though. I would much rather we all find that place to learn and grow, rather than a place that we stagnate in, or a rut that we have decorated and called home.

So I guess that each forum will be open to all? Or will there be denomination specific places people can congregate in? I am under the impression that each forum should decide for themselves, but are we keeping in line with whoever may post wherever?

I went looking specifically for a christian forum on the net and the first one I looked at was CF, lo and behold there before my eyes was the now called 'faith' section. If I hadn't seen those I would have gone on further, I'd have gone on looking for a christian forum. And I'm sure there are many people out there the same. The name change DOES mean something.

Yes, I will stay now that I'm here because I'm so at home with the PEOPLE on the board. Very sad with the name change though.. :(

Perhaps, he was convicted to do this based on who was whining about "his website". Is this a way that to hardened their hearts? Could be, its a thought.

Which was a false dividing line to begin with.

[/b]

Oh come on - quit the "woe is me" tirade.
Come on, where's your LOVE?!!!
Are we being snippy already? I have every right to my opinion, don't I? (and Obviously I'm not the only one here that carries it).

Wait & see for yourself. (this format caters & panders to non Christians). And if that's what you like, you will probly feel right at home here.

Either way, no worries! Christians will bounce back and either find a new home elsewhere, or turn it to the good some other way.
GOD NEVER LOSES... people lose when they turn away from the truth.

And it's not "woe is me", it's A SIGN OF THE TIMES GOD FORETOLD WOULD COME, I fully expect it, and actually, it's exciting to see it fulfilled!

GOD REIGNS SUPREME! Soli Deo Gloria!

Actually, Erwin, you SHOULD be prepared to refund money to site supporters who financially supported CF. I'm sure many would not spend $$ on a social networking board!

I dang sure wouldn't have an I'm dang sure not blowin my money on a worldly endeaver as this crap has become!

I'm disappointed.

that's all I care to say about it all. :sigh:
That is an understatement. I understand...

Shocked is a good word. More Christian hopes crushed for some unknown reason. No words left for this .

I am still so surprised that all that discussion in those original threads was ignored.

No option three at all. Just the continuation of the mess already in place.

Oh well. What good does it do to yell at someone who is not listening?

Keep praying. I will...

Sun

Maybe we should have sites just for Christians (which there are many) without including unbelievers. This site can be used as part of the "Great Commission" rather than getting out what what we desire.

Look, it was a group of Christian who made it their personal quest to convince Erwin to take "Christian" out of the name of this forum. Let's not start blaming the "atheists" LOL!

Yes.. its like people blaming Jews about killing Christ when Jesus said otherwise.

Thank you. To me, it's obvious that this is a reaction to those who were hollering about the new CF being a social site and telling Erwin to take Christian out of the name. I think a rather large bluff has been called.

It will be interesting to see the outcome.
