Hey Erwin what was the purpose of voting to keep CF a Christian site if you will not listen? You have removed the name Christian for what or you ashamed of Christ? You have closed your ears to the will of the Christian community on CF for what? This is no longer a Christian site and you have destroyed the Christian fellowship here on Cf that many of us have come to love.We cherished the fellowship with fellow believers in Christ not with the unbelievers who love mocking us.Please do not KILL the Christian fellowship for the sake of pleasing men.You cannot unite Christians with the unbelievers,you cannot unite the house of the Lord with darkness and you cannot unite Light with darkness.Christian Forum without Christian leadership is not a Christian site.You have just showed us that we have no voice here on CF for it always falls on deaf ears as it did today.Please reconsider your stance on this.If you will not change your mind on this issue then goodluck with your Godless site.

Why did the extra step of moving the Christian categories to the bottom of the page have to be taken? The "social networking" aspect is bad enough, now we don't even want our Christian topics to be seen first?

I'm very disappointed in the changes. I don't pay to support social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook, and I didn't pay to support one here. I paid to support Christian Forums.

Jim, you're right, - HOWEVER, you also need a safe haven of protection by some rules that govern standards so Christians aren't completely OVERRUN by skeptic attacks and redefining what Christianity is.

Trust me, that gets OLD after awhile and you end up needing some peace from it. I left such a community already, I was so fried and burnt out, I lost all joy thru debate.

I know what you mean, but it runs a higher risk (starting from watering down the CHRIST centered name of this site, to a generic, secular forum.).

So there IS some room for Christians to take issue in a forum like this. I hope you see the other side to it too.
And we COULD easily mingle with non Christians!
The rules allowed Christians to go into BOTH areas, and some denominations were what I consider NOT Christian in the Christian section...
In the reformed area, it let anyone ask Calvanists a question too.
So we could mingle w/ non christians, it's just been given full access that can seriously harm what CF had here.

Actually, let's get the facts straight, shall we?

Erwin set up those two options. The first one said that if we kept the changes from 7-7-07, there would be a name change. Many people, including myself, did not vote for a long time because we did not want a name change and we didn't want to go back to Old CF. Finally, we began voting for #1 with posts that said that we did not want a name change.

So, the majority did not rule. Nor did the Christians who voted for #1 want a name change. This is Erwin's doing, not the members.

In my opinion, Erwin has done what he wanted to do and he did not understand what peopole wanted at all.

No one wanted a name change and no one wanted our faith to become a sideline to a secular based site.

This site is now secular with a Christian flavor. Christians are nothing but sprinkles on top now.

I have gone to confused, to disappointed, to sad, to anger.

It is Erwin's site and he can do what he chooses, but it is a load of garbage to say that any of the Christian members on this board wanted THIS to happen.

I am hearing from new members who came here because it was a Christian site. I am hearing from site supporters who want their money back.

It is a little underhanded to take people's money under one banner and then change it to something that does not even remotely resemble what they paid for.

He "discipled" 12 disciples while AT THE SAME TIME went into the world to spread the news. He didn't sheltered himself away from the world. He went into the world and commanded all of His disciples to keep doing this when He declared the "Great Commission".

Well more accurately Higgs I think most of us would have preferred that he place Christ back at the center of the Forums and once again define what a Christian is. But since he refused to do so then removing the name of the Savior is the second best option.

To some extent, you hit the nail on the head Jim. And I cannot blame Erwin for doing something!
I do take issue with how he did it tho when there were actually BETTER, more Christ centered ways to do it tho!
THATS my issue with it. He took the wider gate, than narrowing things with better definitions to stop the main problems Christians were complaining about AND LEAVING becuz of.

The rules basically supported NON Christians who were claiming they were Christian - so when they claimed "the bible isn't from God", YOU COULDN'T SAY ANYTHING to counter their claim.
So, the Christian section turned to an all-out slug fest for "what a Christian is".
If Erwin would of at least changed the membership definition to include "the bible is God's inspired word" (possibly even that it's inerrant), most of the trouble would have died down & so would the confusion of 2 opposing "faiths".

Instead, it went secular down the line.

So yes, I agree w/ you that the whining & complaining forced change, I just would have liked to have seen more BACKBONE and more adamacy (clarification) in Christianity - NOT OPENING IT WIDE UP like this causing alot more threat.
