When my niece was in the fourth grade and living with my mom she had behavioral issues and the school sent mom a message that her niece had oppositional defiance disorder. A similar experiment could establish that the sun goes around the earth, by observing at various places on the earth's surface, whether during the day the sun goes around them, from east to west, across the sky or not. Isn't this "how science works" based on observation?

Yes observation ... but from the point of observation .... looking across something and looking down on something gives a different perspective.

What I will ask flat-earthers of Western acculturation is whether they have flown on a commercial jet aircraft at over 30,000 feet and looked out the window. What did the shape of the earth look like on the horizon? If that is the curved edge, then the flat earth must at least be circular. However, this answer is complicated by flights near the edges, which show the same curvature, independent of where the flight path is located. The conclusion is that the earth is spherical, not planar.

How much distortion and what kind? Have you looked at horizontal straight lines through the window before take-off or after landing? How do you know if it is causing the kind of distortion you claim without any reference?

Have you observed the extent of their curvature on the ground, where there are straight lines on the tarmac? It is not nearly enough to distort the curved arc of the earth as viewed at altitude.

Balls have never proven their claim even in a vacuum chamber where you can simulate the so called zero gravity environment of outer space.

Outer space is [not] "zero gravity". It is free fall. That's what an orbit is.

I have flown and can honestly say that the windows did not distort, well not on any of my flights, that's why agreed with @DennisF.
This is my explanation for there being a flat horizon.
