Science can show [on paper] that Jesus couldn't possibly have been born of a virgin, and so end-up with weak-in-the-faith book authors changing "virgin" to "young lady."
This isn't about "science." One not need to be a scientist to know that virgins don't get pregnant. (That's what makes the whole "virgin birth" thing a "miracle". )

As for the "young lady" thing, that isn't scientists either. It is scholars of ancient Semitic languages and texts. (I'm sure you also have issues with the various forms of "Critical Biblical Scholarship", but don't lay that on us scientists. If we wanted to understand the composition of the Bible, we'd take a sample and use a mass spectrometer.) It's not *my* problem (or science's in general) that "Matthew" repurposed a passage about a young woman in the king's court (or something like that) to talk about Jesus and his mommy. (Matthew was the all time master of repurposing until George Lucas came along turning airplane battles into spaceship battles, etc., etc., etc.)

But when Jesus comes back and, if He so chooses, take those authors back in time to Joseph and Mary's days to see for themselves, they're going to weep.

If I see Jesus at the Home Depot looking for work, I'll say "Hi!" for you.

It should be presented as "the Gospel narrative includes and incident of Jesus walking on water."

But if I believe it, can't I claim it?

Do YOU say, "Gravity, as presented in physics class, is Gm1m2/r2²"?

No. We would say: "The gravitational attractive force between two objects, m1 and m2, in Newton's Theory of Gravitation is Gm1m2/r2²"

I seriously doubt that.

If you're like everybody else, you would just say "gravity".

No. I wouldn't just say "gravity is" That is wrong. I've taught this stuff. If I'm going to bother stating or writing out a formula I'm not going to mess around with fuzzy or imprecise language.

Didn't you same the SAME THING about me once!?

I'm jealous!

I thought "I" was the only one who knew more physics, geology, hydrology, biology, and etc than every scientist on earth!

What gives here!?
That was then, this is now.

Well I must say that is quite an accomplishment
in the annals of self deception.
But still not nearly as good as yours.

You not only found out that NASA faked it,
Yep back in 1969 when I was only 7 years old, I was the one who blew the lid off it. Woodward and Bernstein were always coming to me for how to advice after that.
but you know the one True way to interpret the Bible
know it is the Word of God, and, no small accomplishment,
Well, you know, I try to be humble about being the best of the best of the best.
you also know more physics, geology, hyrdology, biology
etc than every scientist on earth.
Well of course, that's why so many university science wings and buildings are named after me. Gotta go now, Neil deGrasse Tyson and the Pope are waiting to ask me questions about what they don't understand. Again.

I believe in most science. I also know that science is fallible. That scientists themselves disprove scientific theories and beliefs.

Thats human nature etc...we aint perfect

Well, after the lame tunquoque you managed
some dimly amusing off topic sarcasm.

Beats just making stuff up I guess.

It's tu quoque and I don't think you quite understand what it means.

Like all the outlandish stuff you made up about me.

For flat Earthers: I am not sure what is worse. Undermining the valid search for knowledge. or implying that God created the universe in such a way as to deliberately deceive us.
As an atheist I'd say that it's undermining, notably America's place
as a leader in the world.
Regressive anti intellectualism/ superstition is not the way to go.

I'd rather people think the earth was flat, than think Thalidomide is a prenatal wonder drug.

Wouldn't you?

Thankfully in my lifetime, no sensible person has needed to think either was the case.

Actually the further America has gotten away from God, the more it has declined as a world leader.

At least science can acknowledge mistakes and make corrections.
