The 8 weeks in Book of Enoch

Hi LLOJ, Ive only thread thru Enoch, once, and didn’t t quite finish it, but what I found interesting is the prophecies concerning Christ…

As for your weeks, I’ve tried seeing ONE WEEK AS SEVEN GENERATIONS, as per chapter Luke, lineage of Christ..

3.And Enoch began to recount from the books and said:
'I was born the seventh in the first week,

God who was the father of Adam, who was the father of Seth, who was the father of Enos, who was the father of Cainan, who was the father of Mahalalel, who was the father of Jared, who was the father of Enoch(WEEK 1) (7), who was the father of Methuselah, who was the father of Lamech, who was the father of Noah, who was the father of Shem, who was the father of Arpachshad, who was the father of Cainan, who was the father of Shelah, who was the father of Eder, who was the father of Peleg, who was the father of Reu, who was the father of Serug, who was the father of Nahor, who was the father of Terah, who was the father of Abraham WEEK 3(21).

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

If I’ve missed the plot completely let me know… but I will continue to look into this when I have some more time…

No, it was just never included in the literature considered canon. The stuff about "the Romanists took it out" is standard boilerplate for any writing that someone or other would like to be part of Scripture but isn't.

Not sure. Daniel mentions on like the "Son of Man" which was the symbolic name of Jesus in the NT/NC

Daniel 7:13 " I was watching in the night visions, And behold, [One] like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven!
He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him.

Revelation 14:14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat [One] like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.

The parts i have read of the book of enoch had striking similarities to the Qua'ran.

A lot of the Koran has similarites to the Bible and the Muslims probably copied most of it to their Book.

I read thru Enoch once about 3 yrs ago and haven't looked at it since but someone on another board brought it up in a discussion.

I was rather interested in the 8 weeks mentioned in it though, which I saved in a folder, and wonder if anyone else has looked at this, or even if this is Scripture and should be included in the Canon?

[1] “Shall be blinded”; the sin of unbelief is highlighted here. Jesus Christ came to his own and his own did not recognize him.
[2] “In it a man shall ascend”; the language is reminiscent of the catching away of Enoch, but here it is a prophecy of the ascension of Christ. Acts 1:9, And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
[3] “The house of dominion shall be burnt with fire”; this is the house of dominion mentioned in 93:7.
