The Prophecy of Weeks in Enoch 91 and Enoch 93 is a prophecy that breaks down the whole of earth’s history into a summary of ten epochs referred to as “weeks”, so Enoch's life is an important episode to be mentioned.

The Prophecy of Weeks specifically concerns itself with the "Plant of uprightness” (93:2), also known as the “plant of righteous judgment” (93:5) and the “plant of righteousness” (93:10); the Prophecy of Weeks is not exactly a history of the world or mankind then, but it is actually about the family line that passed through Abraham and Isaac to those descending from Jacob. From the time of Abraham, in week three, it is a history of the people of Israel over the entire time-span of the world.

A curious aspect of the Prophecy of Weeks is it is broken up and separated in the Book of Enoch; “weeks” eight through ten come in chapter 91, and “weeks” one through seven come in chapter 93.

The following is the entire Prophecy of Weeks placed in its proper order with explanatory notes as appropriate.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Prophecy of Weeks
93 And after that Enoch both gave and began to recount from the books. 2And Enoch said:
“Concerning the children of righteousness and concerning the elect of the world,
And concerning the plant of uprightness, I will speak these things,
Yea, I, Enoch will declare them unto you, my sons:
“According to that which appeared to me in the heavenly vision,
And which I have known through the word of the holy angels,
And have learnt from the heavenly tablets.”
Week One: Enoch’s Era
3And Enoch began to recount from the books and said:
“I was born the seventh in the first week,
While judgment and righteousness still endured.[sup]1[/sup]
Week Two: Noah’s Time and the Flood
4 “And after me there shall arise in the second week great wickedness,
And deceit shall have sprung up;
And in it there shall be the first end.[sup]2[/sup]
“And in it a man shall be saved;[sup]3[/sup]
And after it is ended unrighteousness shall grow up,
And a law shall be made for the sinners.[sup]4[/sup]
Week Three: Abraham is Raised Up
5“And after that in the third week at its close
A man shall be elected as the plant of righteous judgment,[sup]5[/sup]
And his posterity shall become the plant of righteousness for evermore.
Week Four: Moses’ Law and the Tabernacle
6“And after that in the fourth week, at its close,
Visions of the holy and righteous shall be seen,
And a law for all generations and an enclosure shall be made for them.[sup]6[/sup]
Week Five: Solomon’s Temple
7“And after that in the fifth week, at its close,
The house of glory and dominion shall be built for ever.[sup]7[/sup]
Week Six: Apostasy, Christ’s Ascension, Temple Destroyed
8“And after that in the sixth week all who live in it shall be blinded,[sup]8[/sup]
And the hearts of all of them shall godlessly forsake wisdom.
“And in it a man shall ascend;[sup]9[/sup]
And at its close the house of dominion shall be burnt with fire,[sup]10[/sup]
And the whole race of the chosen root shall be dispersed.[sup]11[/sup]
Week Seven: The Church Age
9“And after that in the seventh week shall an apostate generation arise,
And many shall be its deeds,
And all its deeds shall be apostate.[sup]12[/sup]
10“And at its close shall be elected
The elect righteous of the eternal plant of righteousness,[sup]13[/sup]
To receive sevenfold instruction concerning all His creation.
Week Eight: Messianic Age
91:12 “And after that there shall be another, the eighth week, that of righteousness,
And a sword shall be given to it that a righteous judgment may be executed on the oppressors,
And sinners shall be delivered into the hands of the righteous.
13“And at its close they shall acquire houses through their righteousness,
And a house shall be built for the Great King in glory for evermore,
Week Nine: Great White Throne Judgment
14“And after that, in the ninth week,
The righteous judgment shall be revealed to the whole world,
And all the works of the godless shall vanish from all the earth,
And the world shall be written down for destruction.
And all mankind shall look to the path of uprightness.
Week Ten: New Heavens and New Earth
15“And after this, in the tenth week in the seventh part,
There shall be the great eternal judgment,
In which He will execute vengeance amongst the angels.
16“And the first heaven shall depart and pass away,
And a new heaven shall appear,
And all the powers of the heavens shall give sevenfold light.
The Eternal Order
17“And after that there will be many weeks without number for ever,
And all shall be in goodness and righteousness,
And sin shall no more be mentioned for ever.
FOOTNOTES:
[sup]1[/sup] “While judgment and righteousness still endured”; though the fall of the Watchers had occurred during Enoch’s father’s lifetime, during Enoch’s day the world had not yet sunk down so low as the later time when the world became totally corrupt. Enoch’s proclamation of judgment to the Watchers in Enoch 13, may have been as many as eight centuries prior to its having been carried out.
[sup]2[/sup] "In it there shall be the first end"; Enoch's book concerns itself with both the judgment of God during the flood of Noah's time, called here "the first end", as well as the judgment at the time of the end of the age, commonly discussed throughout the books of the Bible. The Book of Enoch states the time before the end of the age will be twice as bad as it was in the days of Noah.
[sup]3[/sup] Noah
[sup]4[/sup] “A law shall be made for the sinners”; after having landed the ark in safety, Noah, through revelation, delivered a kind of universal law for his descendants which was in effect until the time of Moses. Genesis 8
[sup]5[/sup] Here Abraham is the one “elected” or chosen as the plant of righteous judgment; from Abraham comes the “plant of righteousness”, Abraham’s offspring through Isaac then Jacob. The verse says the plant of righteousness is for evermore. God’s plans for his people Israel, the descendants of Jacob, have never been set aside.
[sup]6[/sup] “A law for all generations and an enclosure”; in other words, the law of Moses and the tabernacle in the wilderness.
[sup]7[/sup] “The house of glory and dominion”; in other words the temple in Jerusalem and the Davidic throne. It “shall be built for ever”; despite temporary periods of time during which the temple is not standing (as in 93:8) or when there is no Davidic kingdom, the promise of their restoration remains unchanged. In our time, there is no earthly temple, and Christ the root and branch of David is enthroned in heaven; both the earthly temple and the throne will have restoration at the return of Christ.
[sup]8[/sup] “Shall be blinded”; the sin of unbelief is highlighted here. Jesus Christ came to his own and his own did not recognize him.
[sup]9[/sup] “In it a man shall ascend”; the language is reminiscent of the catching away of Enoch, but here it is a prophecy of the ascension of Christ. Acts 1:9, And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
[sup]10[/sup] “The house of dominion shall be burnt with fire”; this is the house of dominion mentioned in 93:7. Matthew 24:1-2, Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” The stones were thrown down by the Romans in order to scrape the gold from between them which had melted and run down when the temple was burned.
[sup]11[/sup] “The whole race of the chosen root shall be dispersed”; Luke 21:24, They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
[sup]12[/sup] “Apostate” here means a defection from the God of Israel. Because of the rejection of Jesus, the Messiah of Israel, by the religious leaders of the Jews, the God of Israel had been also rejected. Jesus said, “no one comes to the father but by me”, John 14:6
[sup]13[/sup] “At its close shall be elected the elect righteous of the eternal plant of righteousness”; The nation who introduced Jesus Christ to the world will themselves be introduced to their Messiah. In this way the chosen people will be doubly chosen by reason of their election into Israel’s Messiah. This earth-shattering event will set the stage for the return of Jesus to earth. The regeneration of Israel, long prophesied by the prophets, will signal the soon coming Messianic age, a golden age on earth and the end of Satan’s rule over the affairs of humankind. Romans 11:26, “In this way all Israel will be saved.”
