The continuing litany of excuses for their actions are noted.

It's possible they were just venting their frustrations with anti-Russian people. Sometimes it's necessary to do some destruction to blow off a little steam. We allowed it in America, and now we have to be tolerant of Russia. "Summer of love" and all that.

I'm sure there's plenty of blame to go around. Putin for ordering the invasion, Russian officers who are misinformed or even spiteful, soldiers who may be just having fun or getting revenge, pilots who empty their bomb loads somewhere so they don't return to base with their bombs and get questioned as to why.
Perhaps someday things will become clearer.
If things go nuclear, the problems of the present will be quickly forgotten.
Actually, it's so much worse.

Simply look at what Russia did in recent wars.

Look at their actions in Grozny.
"In 2003, the United Nations called Grozny the most destroyed city on Earth"

Look up what happened in Aleppo.

Entirely level a city; and the goal gradually changes to kill everyone indiscriminately.

That's the realistic likelihood, and that's what the millions of Ukrainians resisting Putin, and western aid, has to stop. By force of arms. They are fighting to defend the people of cities.

Ummm just a thought, maybe there was enemy combatants in there it's THEIR COUNTRY, they are defending it and given that russia has shown they will kill and attack anyone, having soldiers around to protect soft targets is a good idea. Are you suggesting that defending your own country is now grounds to bomb civilians?

All that, and now they're getting closer and closer to crossing into Poland.
To be honest with you, I don't expect to see next year. Just sayin'.

The continued rationalization for Russia's actions is noted.

It is a thin line they have to walk. To much support for Ukraine and you anger the leader of the Republican Party and Putin supporter Donald J Trump. Too much support for Russia and Trump friend Putin and you risk angering the people who still believe democracy and freedom.

Yeah, I know. But when? And what happens in the meantime? The Holocaust the Jews went through was something on a scale never imagined before, and the Great Tribulation is said to be even worse.

I was actually thinking more about the BLM riots when I wrote that.

God did not give you a spirit of fear, so where did it come from? So stop listening to the voice of the devil and send him away in the name of Jesus.

Probably from the same sense of self-preservation that would make me flee from a burning house, or move out of the way of an on-coming car.

those are immediate and directed threats, you are responding to a "what if" with fear that is not the same. You are listening to something that is being suggested to you as being a possibility.

You mean the possibility of the Russia/Ukraine war expanding into World War 3? Well, that would change the world forever, so that's kind of a big thing.

...however, the chances have gone up considerably since Putin has demonstrated he has no qualms about pulverizing cities he considers to be Russian....

And that's just Putin. Now North Korea has become emboldened once again to test more advanced long-range missiles, including ones that can reach the USA. Iran is also getting help from biden since we "need" their oil, so it looks like the way to a nuke for Iran is being paved. Let's see how nuclear-armed Israel reacts to that.
