The ground shook more than a mile away when the Mariupol complex was hit by a series of blasts that blew out windows and ripped away much of the front of one building. Police and soldiers rushed to the scene to evacuate victims, carrying out a heavily pregnant and bleeding woman on a stretcher as light snow drifted down on burning and mangled cars and trees shattered by the blast.

Marina Levinchuk said she received an alarming text message from the local authorities in the besieged city of Mariupol several days ago, before she decided to flee. “If somebody dies in your family,” she said, recalling the message in her own words, “just put the body outside, cover it, tie up the hands and the legs and leave it outside.”

“That’s what’s going on in Mariupol now,” she said of the city, currently ringed by Russian forces pounding it with bombs, missiles and artillery, and hitting a maternity hospital on Wednesday. “There are just bodies lying in the streets.

They met in high school but became a couple years later, after meeting again on a dance floor at a Ukrainian nightclub. Married in 2001, they lived in a bedroom community outside Kyiv, in an apartment with their two children and their dogs, Benz and Cake. She was an accountant and he was a computer programmer.

Serhiy and Tetiana Perebyinis owned a Chevrolet minivan. They shared a country home with friends, and Ms. Perebyinis was a dedicated gardener and an avid skier. She had just returned from a ski trip to Georgia.

And then, late last month, Russia invaded Ukraine, and the fighting quickly moved toward Kyiv. It wasn’t long before artillery shells were crashing into their neighborhood. One night, a shell hit their building, prompting Ms. Perebyinis and the children to move to the basement. Finally, with her husband away in eastern Ukraine tending to his ailing mother, Ms. Perebyinis decided it was time to take her children and run.

They didn’t make it. Ms. Perebyinis, 43, and her two children, Mykyta, 18, and Alisa, 9, along with a church volunteer who was helping them, Anatoly Berezhnyi, 26, were killed on Sunday as they dashed across the concrete remnants of a damaged bridge in their town of Irpin, trying to evacuate to Kyiv.

Russia have already responded claiming there was no bombing, and only armed radicals were at the hospital that was not bombed.

The ones allowing this are just following God’s example. They have the power to stop it but choose not to.

What people have the power to stop this and are not? Is it the U.S. sending all the military aid before the war, and now also? Or what people do you have in mind?....

God lets us do both good and evil.

So that some might repent and turn to Him admitting our wrongs, even if in a given year only few will admit their own wrongs....

So that some might reform and turn to what is Good, become ready to enter into eternal life.

But He won't force anyone against their will to reform.

While small children are already ready for heaven (Christ said Luke 18:16 But Jesus called the children to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. ), the question for us adults is whether or not we will turn to what is Good.

We have a hundred reasons to instead choose evils for seeming short term gains, if we prefer our own corruptions.

But we also have a hundred reasons to instead turn in true repentance to what is right and good.

Ah, and perhaps for Putin too, in view of that gigantic main column of the biggest amount of the forces stalled for more a week now.
