We will have a clearer picture if Trump will be the Republican nominee very shortly-after Super Tuesday. By then most of the remaining Republican candidates will have dropped out or have become so marginalized that they can be written off. It is nearly certain that Clinton will become the Democratic nominee. Most of the polls show her trailing every Republican candidate by small margins except Trump. Clinton fails to energize people and is closely associated with Obama who has poor approval ratings. By contrast the polls show that Sanders leads most of the Republican candidates by small margins and has an even more significant lead over Trump. However although Sanders popularity appears to be growing it is very doubtful that he can garner sufficient support quickly enough to gain the nomination.

I don't actually know if his character or judgment matter to most of his supporters. Who cares if he lacks basic political knowledge, claims cutting taxes by over a trillion dollars a year will increase revenue, and rejects extremely well-supported scientific claims in favor of conspiracy theories? He's a Strong Leader who will crush our enemies and save America from the Radicals who want to Transform it.
