What if another virus comes right after this one, or a third one after the second, etc? What if the authorities use these same measures for every new virus?
No, I'm sure Donald has learned a lot from all the experts who have been working on this ... nah, can't even finish that sentence with a straight face.

What if another virus comes right after this one, or a third one after the second, etc? What if the authorities use these same measures for every new virus? I think some people who are complacent with what is happening mistakenly believe that forbidding most human interaction is just temporary. Would you be ok with such isolation for years? Never having a gathering ever again? Next time a new virus comes, we're going to be doing this all over again, sooner rather than later, and it will be every year. See how much you'll be able to hold onto your sanity. You won't be able to. Multitudes of people might commit suicide because human beings will not be able to cope with unnatural isolation for such indefinite periods of time.
Let’s us just deal with what we find on TODAY’S plate?
“What if’s” are fun and all but we need to stay focused.

Trump says he'll decide on easing guidelines, not governors
President Donald Trump asserted Monday that he is the ultimate decision-maker for determining how and when to relax the nation's social distancing guidelines as he grows anxious to reopen the coronavirus-stricken country as soon as possible.

Governors and local leaders, who have instituted mandatory restrictions that have the force of law, have expressed concern that Trump's plan to restore normalcy will cost lives and extend the duration of the outbreak.

Under the Constitution, public health and safety is primarily the domain of state and local officials and it was not clear what, if any, authorities Trump could use to overrule their decisions.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Trump said some are "saying that it is the Governors decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government. Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect...it is the decision of the President, and for many good reasons.”

West Coast governors announce they will create joint plan for reopening economies

The governors of Washington, California and Oregon on Monday announced they were working on a joint plan for reopening their respective economies once it is safe to lift coronavirus-related restrictions.

“COVID-19 has preyed upon our interconnectedness. In the coming weeks, the West Coast will flip the script on COVID-19 – with our states acting in close coordination and collaboration to ensure the virus can never spread wildly in our communities,” Oregon’s Kate Brown (D), California’s Gavin Newsom (D) and Washington’s Jay Inslee (D) said in a statement Monday.

“We are announcing that California, Oregon and Washington have agreed to work together on a shared approach for reopening our economies – one that identifies clear indicators for communities to restart public life and business,” they added.
