Nadroj converted me to liking Velvet Underground and Radiohead, which are now definitely in my top 5 bands of all time. I also think that "Sweet Jane" and "Street Spirit" are two of my favorite songs of all time. Thanks Jordan. Now if only I could convert you to the Beatles...

Don't hold your breath But I'm surprised I converted you so fully to Radiohead and VU, but I'm glad to share the wealth. They're really both brilliant.

I have a good friend that likes some of the same stuff as me, and we convert each other to different bands. He originally turned me on to Modest Mouse, Sigur Ros, and Godspeed You Black Emperor!, and I turned him on to VU, the Pixies, and the Shins, among many others.

A friend *converted* me to Blisse, Over the Rhine and Rufus Wainwright--3 very different sounds but all outstanding in their genres (however loosely they fit into genres that is ...)

I am a missionary for Dream Theater.....

its a shame not enough people know about them. And some that do complain of the 'long' songs....pssh! classical ballads were not short and look how great they are, the same goes for Dream Theatre

My friend Steffi got me hooked on Relient K and Switchfoot.. but apart from that I choose my own music... and that goes from like Britney Spears (I only own one single- Toxic) to Michelle Branch to Avril to Simple Plan and Killing Heidi (gotta love K H! They so totally rawk!) but yeah

My son converted me into a U2 fan, even though he's not that much of a fan. He kept telling me I would like them, and should buy the Joshua Tree cd. He knew I would like them.

It took me til ATYCLB to finally check them out.

My best friend Mike got me into U2... I was always a fan, but it wasnt until he bought me one of their live DVD's that got me REALLY hooked
