Even though I have sorta always liked Social Distortion, Matt(Goat37) sent me some songs through MSN and Im hooked and just cant get enough of them..Just bought "Sex, Love and Rock and Roll"..Havent heard the whole thing yet as my dad just went to bed and I am not about to listen to it really low....

Too many to name... but here are a few in reverse chronological order.

Housemate and gongfriend Nik introduced me to lots of wacky synthy stuff post-uni-- Tonto's Expanding Head Band, Zorch, etc. and encouraged me in my Gong-family (Tim Blake, Daevid Allen, Hillage, etc.), krautrock/kosmische and other electronic explorations.

Composer friend James turned me on to Steve Reich's Sextet/Six Marimbas at uni, from there I branched out into other minimalists (Lamonte Young, Terry Riley, et al)

Friend of a friend loaned us a tape of Arborescence by Ozric Tentacles, we loved it so much... and were crushed to find out we had missed the '94 US tour by a couple months.

A guy I was buddies with in the HS marching band played me a Rush album on his walkman which changed everything.
