  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

According to God's word, we can know whether we are saved:

“the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” (Eph 1:18 NKJV)

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” (1Jo 5:13 NKJV)
2 Corinthians 5:10- "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

True, but our salvation does not depend upon our own righteousness:

“and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which [is] through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;” (Php 3:9 NKJV)

You are very correct, it doesn't depend on our own works/righteousness, but there are some on this thread that still don't think they're ever going to be judged, etc.

God Bless.

I think we all can agree that Paul was not at all about a works based saving/righteousness, but yet he also came up with things to say like that is in 2 Corinthians 5:10 also? So was he contradicting his own beliefs?

God Bless.

Without being present when every man/person and everything is judged, we don't get to learn about God's true justice, or how God knows/judges/discerns true good from true evil, and that is the one and only reason for it really, it's all for us and not at all for him, etc, and it is not at all to be feared for the real christian. I'm sorry that you all fear it so much/bad, etc. It's one of the only ways that God can teach us true good, from true bad, I'm sorry you all fear it so bad. It's a part of our education that needs to happen before we can enter heaven, etc.

Even if you yourself are not judged because of Jesus, you still need to be there and be present when everything and everyone else is, etc. This is why I say that when all of us die, we will all arrive, and we will all be standing together at the judgement, but just as a vital part of our education before we can enter heaven, etc. That will be the only reason it's even taking place, or is even happening that way. It's not at all for God, but is only for us, etc. And it's not at all to be feared for the believer, etc.

Or are you going to disagree with the Bible now?

2 Corinthians 5:10- "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

The only difference for the believer, is that he/she receives mercy for the bad.

God Bless.

And here are some more Bible verses for you, in case you want some additional reading.

1 Corinthians 4:5

Luke 12:2

Hebrews 4:13

This will be the purpose of the judgement, and for standing before the judgement, is so we can all know true good and bad, or the (hidden) secrets of all hearts (including our own) before entering heaven, etc.

It's not for God, but is for us (God doesn't need to know what he already knows, or already has full knowledge of already, and already has since time began, etc) but it is for us, so we will all finally know the very, very difficult and very confusing subject of both good and bad, etc. That we already tried to know on our own fully, but proved to be an utter disaster for us, and ultimately destroyed us really, etc.

God Bless.

The judgment seat of The Messiah, is a judgment for born again children of God only. This judgement is only for the giving out or the loss of rewards, for how a believer lived their life as a born again child of God.

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

I don't think we can know for sure whether or not the the judgement seat of Christ, and standing before it, is only for the believer only or not, but it's and interesting theory I guess?

Do you think the GWT judgement is just only for the believer only?

I could probably find quite a few scriptures against this, but I really just don't care right now I guess.

To me, the judgement seat of Christ is no different from the judgement seat of God I guess.

Romans 14:10-12 is what I can find at the moment without doing some more research/work. Depending on the translation, they use judgment seat of God and Christ interchangeably, etc.

But there is the GWT judgement also, which we know will be Jesus doing the judging, and for which we know will be everybody, and also where it says "every knee shall bow and tongue shall confess" we know is for believers and non-believers alike also, and for which Christ will also be doing the judging, etc. But some scriptures, depending on the translation, use judgement seat of God and Christ, both interchangeably, as if they are one in the same, etc.

Matthew 25: 31-32 was another one I just found, Jesus taking a "seat on his throne" (judgement seat of Christ?) any judging "all of the nations" (everybody maybe?)

Anyway, that's all I care to do right now.

God Bless.

I still think it's required for us all to be present when everything and everyone (else?) is being judged before any of us can enter heaven. In order to know God's real true judgements, and so we can all know real good from real bad before we can enter heaven.

How long has humankind/mankind been so very, very much confused about good and bad? and how still very, very much confused is he about it today still after all of that? Been a long time, hasn't it? And with very little progress with it also, etc. And don't any of you wonder why that is? Because I don't think it's due to his lack of trying in getting to know it, etc. But it's just that every single time he tries to explore it, he finds that there are just way, way, way "too many factors" that need to be figured out/considered into all of it, etc. Well, that's what I think the judgement is for actually, is so that all of us can finally get to know/fully understand all of that, etc. Because we know it's not for God's benefit, etc. So then, for what other reason would be any of the judgements? And don't you think we would all need to be present for all of that, etc?

God Bless.

I guess you've all got me now questioning if I either will or will not be judged for anything? Maybe the Lord/God will not have even one single thing that he will hold against me? Maybe I'll get off 100% completely scott free? But, however, or whatever way it goes (I don't think I can right now say) but however or whichever way it goes, judged or not judged for anything, or let off 100% completely scott free, I'm still going to accept God's judgement in any of it or all of it always anyway, etc.

But I still do think we all still do need to be present for the judgement of everyone else and everything else though still regardless, for reasons I have already mentioned in my post/reply above this one just now, before we can enter heaven, etc.

God Bless.

Being judged for our sins and being asked to give an account of our lives, how we have used our gifts, etc, are different things.
Christians will not experience the former - we have Jesus who died for us. But we will have to give an account of our lives, how we have lived, etc.

So yes, I do know 100% that I am saved.
Scripture tells me I will still have to account for how I have used my new life in Christ - I don't dispute that.
