A friend introduced me to the music of George Winston, a piano soloist categorized "New Age" (which seems to be the place to put anyone who doesn't fit somewhere else). If you're feeling pensive, introspective, etc., GW will serve you well. He's taken the piano places I never knew it could go.

I should recognise Breetai's role in getting me into Dream Theater - he had to put up with my mega slow dialup too when he sent me Tears and Take Away My Pain. And I actually bought a VU album last week, so Jordan can take the credit for sparking my interest in the band. and of course Bill's involvement in the Phish process, Danie sending me Float On by Modest Mouse...

The Muffin Man got me into autechre and mum (not on the board, but in real life), and I gto him into a smattering of other bands (sigur ros, kraftwerk), and well as some that neither of us hold interest to anymore (mxpx).

I became a huge Rammstein fan from the Matrix (from whence comes this handle) and discovered more of their stuff online. I joined a Rammstein community, which I still belong to, and they turned me onto lots of good bands:

Megaherz, Eis-Brecher, Knorkator, Stahlhammer, Turmion Kälitöt, and techno.

I've also developed a love of the German language and people, and music in other languages.

A friend of mine just kinda recently got me into Jeff Buckley. He's amazing. I simply MUST get to a record store soon to pick a cd up. Iw ould walk today but its drizzling out, so I dont really feel like walking in the rain.

I heard the song "Heaven" by Los Lonely Boys on the radio a couple of weeks ago - very very good Latin rock! I bought their CD yesterday and will be listening to it a fair bit over the bext couple of days

someone that converted me over to a band/artist, well, my ex-g/f converted me over to Elliot Smith. after our breakup, his music actually helped me in some ways to get over those feelings after a breakup and plus his music is too good to stop listening to it just because an ex of yours got you listening to it, hehe.
