Fair point, it's never been the capitol building...but a left wing mob (several of whom were armed) took over multiple square blocks of Seattle including government buildings...I wouldn't suggest that police just start shooting the unarmed ones to "neutralize the threat"

It does feel like a failure of policing. The individual officer might have been justified, but I definitely see a failure in preparation and communication in reacting to an unprecedented situation. A mob invading the US capital with the US President more interested in using it to pressure Pence to break the Constitution than carrying out his duties.

They are convicting cops for shooting people that have a hold of their weapons, how in the world can it be justified to shoot someone from a distance? Overthrow the vote? An 110 lb. unarmed woman against a large armed police force with riot gear? An unarmed crowd could delay proceedings, crowds often interrupt proceedings or speeches, but it was no attempt to overthrow by any means. This is wild speculation on your part. With the Supreme Court we have a United States senator openly threatening a Supreme Court justice, an arrest of an admitted attempt to murder a Supreme Court justice, and a President who refuses to condemn the illegal mob at the home of Supreme Court Justice. That is a real attempt to overthrow a government, a real attack against my nation. The radical wing of Democrats is destroying this nation, attacking our Constitution, devastating our economy and moral rights. I believed that the election was stolen before Trump ever said a word about it. And not nobody, not no how has ever said anything to convince me otherwise. And this sham kangaroo court the Democratic party is putting is certainly not after the truth. Every accused criminal in the land is entitled to call witnesses is his/her defense.
And the fact that a woman supposedly was reacting to Trump's words "march peacefully down Independence avenue etc." and thought they meant attack Washington are not evidence that Trump did anything criminal.

President Trump asked the crowd to march over to the Capitol peacefully and patriotically. It was Chuck Schumer that threatened a Supreme Court Justice, say that Kavanaugh would "pay the price."

First, this has nothing to do with the Constitutional right to bear arms

If Ms. Babbitt had entered the area the officers could have pointed their guns at her and told her to lie down on the floor, and proceeded to handcuff her. Now she was unarmed, 110 pounds, but had she got close enough and struggled with the officers they could have properly tased her. It is there job to apprehend in unarmed suspect, not shoot a suspect. Just because most of the people there supported Donald Trump is not a reason to shoot and kill. A judge and jury could legally find her guilty and ordered her imprisonment or execution, that is not the job of a police officer.
