Unironically, I agree - it's called courage of conviction. The President didn't apologize his way into the White House, and as for King, well he was the only GOP congressman in Iowa to survive last year's midterms.
Courage of conviction in saying that white supremacy is not a bad thing is textbook racism. King does have courage of conviction, he won't back down from his blatant and obvious racism.

Which says something about the GOP members who want to put him back in power...

Of course, we have to remember that convictions must be examined in context. Patrick Henry showed courage of convictions with his "give me liberty or give me death!" speech. The 9/11 hijackers showed courage of convictions by dying for their cause.

One of these acts is praiseworthy... the other is not.

Isn't about time we had another thread talking about how you can't be both a Christian and a Democrat?

Those are always “fun”!

Even more fun is when the Christians who are Democrats try to advocate and defend democrat policies.

Not to mention it's against the rules to state or imply that another Christian member, or group of members, are not Christian. You know, threads like that have to tendency to get shut down.

IIRC, those comments were made in response to a push to enact anti-BDS legislation that would, among other things, prohibit government contractors from participating in BDS boycotts. That's a pretty significant attack on first amendment rights and there's a valid argument to be made that such a push does suggest divided loyalties.

Everybody in Congress is bought off. Is it now off-limits to point that out when the alleged briber is from Israel.

Again, I don't know that she wasn't deliberately using dog whistles, but her points have merit if taken at face value.

No, King's statements weren't comparable. There are no charitable, non-xenophobic ways to interpret his comments about culture. His history with making these comments is also much longer and more extensive than Omar's, and his repeated support of far-right white nationalist politicians just lends more support to the claims against him.

I consider the statements YOU just made to be racists as well. So if you are racists, then no one here or anywhere else, needs to defend King. If you what you said is fine, then King is fine too.

You are telling me that Jews, are using Jew money, to buy off congress? Because that is what Omar said, when I listened to her statements.

So everyone is under the control of the Jews? Racists.

That, what you just said... racists.

Don't talk to me about racism, when you are engaging in it.

Well, then maybe you should calm down and take your time to read it over again a little more closely.

I'm telling you that all lobbyists buy off Congress. That's the job of a lobbyist. Some of those lobbyists get paid to lobby for Israel.

The only reason the "all about the benjamins" comment was considered anti-Semitic was because it was similar to some log-standing anti-semitic tropes, not because there's anything inherently wrong with complaining about lobbying.

Steve King is unapologetically racist. You clearly share his ideals, so why the endless claims of not being racist in a thread where you’re being openly and repeatedly racist?

No foreign nation is allowed to buy off Congress -- not even Israel.
