In all seriousness what does all this say about the society we live in for this to even exist?
One that took God out of it and is now reaping what they have down.

So many young people now, not only do not have God but have been brought up with one parent (and I'm not bashing that), no stable family life etc. I see this with my neices and nephews.
Some are put in childcare from virtually birth and they sort of grow up independently. Who do they turn to when they have troubles? I know I've joked on this post but it is really not that funny when you think people actually feel they need to go into a closet and cry rather than have someone they can talk to or more importantly GOD as their strength.
I have often thought I would hate to be a young person now.
Just an aside, I was a person who lived with her parents all her life until they passed away in 2009 and 2016. I wasn't weak, we loved one another, got on well and I feel privileged that I could be with them til they were called home.

 I can see these doing double-duty as both a cry closet AND a prayer closet.
(Especially, if you wanted to pray in tongues! ;))

Yes, sin affects this world and I am a big believer in Bible prophecy and that we're living in a 2 Timothy 3 generation. Bible said it would be perilous times and I'm afraid it's going to cause damage to a lot of people due to the scope of how perilous the times currently are. Studies actually show that empathy is on the decline and narcissism is rising as the 2 Timothy 3 description pretty much boils down to pride and a lack of empathy.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/...r-empathy-dropped-40-in-college-students-2000
https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/...s-narcissism-increasing-among-young-americans

When you grow up in a society like this, how can you expect to grow up as well adjusted as previous generations? If people really are getting nastier and more self-centered, how can you learn to handle life and learn to trust people when society is no longer a community but more like a chaotic rat race to the top?

Like I said, people are getting more competitive and are disregarding other people's rights in order to get to the top. Not everyone can handle such a cutthroat society that the Bible warned us about.

To add to that if I may now that I came in from having a cigar and a cup of late night tea.

I've been sharing with my wife for a while now that I think our DNA is breaking down more than ever obviously God didn't make us to last forever, while here on Earth.

A lot of new freaky diseases have been around lately. My sister-in-law's blood just disappears. The doctors have no idea where it goes to and she has to have transfusions quite often. What the heck is that?

I cry in the shower like normal people.

That's what I'm talking about instead of a crying closet why don't they put a crying shower in for those kids.

Now this thread is getting somewhere.
We're going to straighten out the world tonight.

And as an old retired doctor at our church use to say, "growing old ain't for sissies."

That's why I'm not enthused regarding the "cry closet," it just doesn't seem to prepare them properly?

Hey as long as they get a job, pay taxes and continue to support our SSI...I say let them cry all they want. :)

Yes, I do hope they get out of mommy's basement before they hit old age.

Remember crying too much can put these ones on early SSI. It's happening all over the place. One guy we know got it very early because working stressed him a little. They did not pay for that when I was younger. It's a new age thing.

Another reason SSI is going broke.
Giving our money away.

I guess they should put cry closets in prisons as well. I hear the stresses is as worse as college.
If there was no down sides, that could actually be a good idea. That setting would discourage crying (as a sign of weakness). This, in turn, might harden them further.

Do you see a reason why prisoners shouldn't have that option (if it isn't abused)?

Crying, itself, is not a bad thing. Sometimes, a wake-up call is a rude awakening and a good cry might help with that transition...

Come on they are going to get beat up when they come out of the crying closet.

Warning -- when you go to prison stay 50 feet away from the crying closet.

What exactly happened in their childhoods that made them so traumatized and in dire need of therapy before going to college for all these students?
My guess is it's the result of parents who wanted to be their friends instead of their parents, who raised them to think they're special and entitled simply for clearing the birth canal, who showered them with participation trophies and praise for doing little more than taking their next breath.

They need to grow up, they suppose to be adults it is time they acted like it. I blame schools and technology
How many 'adults' are on anti-depressants to manage the stress in their lives, thousands? millions?

I'd much rather see young people resorting to 'cry closets' than anti-depressants that can actually cause anger and violent behaviors.
