No sin in heaven , no pride , nobody will look down on anybody , you won't even remember your sins you will be like child knowing only good .

Does not seem like we would be looking back to Earth cuz it could only sadden us. If I know I'm leaving I do not wish to be like Lot's wife-- don't look back.

To many are and it is a problem, sometimes I think people are being medicated that do not need such things. A shift kick in the behind would cure many. You do not see a problem in bygone era's of "oh I am so depressed, give me meds!" they pulled themselves by their bootstraps and did what had to be done. Modern people have become sissified to a huge extant and crying rooms, coloring books, and other things so how far we have fallen.

There are two types of depression, one is a short term thing that you will recover from and the other is a clinical depression that is the same sort of illness as diabetes, heart disease etc.

Do you know how many people who have a clinical depression would like it if someone could just "give them a kick in the backside" and all would be well ?

ME for instance but until heaven when all will be put right, I continue to take meds which keep me pretty much on an even keel, but more importantly rely on God knowing that He cares for me and it WON'T always be like this.:prayer:

...I am betting that the first person who goes into one to pr[a]y will [f]eel the wrath of secular college. :)
If one has a good prayer time in there, they might leave some residual Holy Spirit for the next person. That would be a game-changer...!

What exactly happened in their childhoods that made them so traumatized and in dire need of therapy before going to college for all these students?

I read somewhere the pretty much everyone has been at least semi-traumatized by the time they leave middle school. True words there! Life is hard.

I think we are doing too much pampering with the colleges based on some of these articles - cry closets? Halloween therapy? -- but do think we need to balance it out with acknowledging how stressful college is and how to best manage the situation and time, pretty much the point of guidance couselors and aides on campus.

Maybe we are pampering too much. At the same time, what does it say about us if when we hear about cry closets our first reaction is to insult and ridicule instead of question why things have gotten this bad? There are a lot of things contributing to these issues. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be getting better.

Things will not get any better as long as society coddles young adults like they are children. It is high time society stops doing that and treats young adults like adults

You know, going into WW2 men left their families for all those horrors. Women got into new roles not traditional for them. Families had to adapt to the changes. Men came back broken and damaged, and they were told to just deal with it. The women had to give up the things they had been taking pride in to go back to what they were "supposed" to do. That caused issues, and they were told to deal with it. Their children got to grow up dealing with it. Those damaged people had families of their own, and wars of their own... and they were told to deal with it. And so on, and so on up until now. Society has been listening to the "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" "suck it up" "be a man" drivel for decades. And people haven't gotten better. Mental health issues are running rampant.

And I'm not saying it's all wrong either. People are capable of pushing through a lot more than they give themselves credit for. Most give up too easily.

Basically, I believe our society put a lot of work into getting to this point. Most of that work revolved around exactly the nasty kinds of attitudes in this thread. Ridicule, insult, and tell those that for whatever reason have lesser mental fortitude to just toughen up. No knowlege of what may be wrong with an individual, just "suck it up." Exactly the kind of things that got us here in the first place. These past couple of generations have just swung too far in the opposite direction.

There's also this common assumption that people become adults and problems just disappear. Everyone that reflects on that just a little knows it's not the case.

Of course, I think many cultures are practically embracing mental illnesses too. Even glorifying them in a way. I watched a video a while back about this woman that thinks she's a cat. She just goes out in public and sits around licking herself and purring. Her therapist thinks she's "fine" lol.

And having been in college the past 8 years, the amount of stress generated there that isn't even related to assignments is amazing.

It's not that I don't agree. I just think there's a middle ground and a way to approach it. There's a lot in the world we can't control, but we can at least control how we speak of other people.

No, they need to grow a pair. These days there are to many sniveling cowards, back in the day man and women acted brave I bet if we had WW3 we would lose because of all the sissy's here who "need to cry". I can understand women crying because that is there makeup but man ned to be tough and grow a pair
