I grew up in the Town of Paradise Valley, then lived in Scottsdale, and now I live in Tempe. Am hoping to get out of Arizona all together in a couple of years...although I wouldn't mind living in Sedona or Flag....just hate Phoenix.

Yo Zonies!

Anyone going to Masters Commission Conference, Feb 10/11 in 'nix?

Look out for Southport UK team there, inc ace musicians from Czech, Canada & Florida: the Czech guitarist looks like Geri Halliwell, (ex-Spice Girls), & will be totally amazed if ya casually say, "Hi Helen!"

Altogether now...

Apparently you've never smelled Tucson as you approached from the north, or else you'd know. One bad part about living in Phoenix, it's downwind from Tucson.

ROFL I know it's been a while since I visited Tucson, but even so, I never noticed anything unusual about the air quality. We have worse pollution problems here in the Phoenix Metro area.

Shucks: Helen has stayed in UK..

..but keyboardist Janine looks kinda like Alanis Morisette/Katie Melua..
:yum:
Guitarist Richie looks kinda like a young Dolph Lundgren - only @ 10" shorter than that giant, so the sun don't blind ya, like..

Mind you, if da sun's in ya eyes, team Capt, Pastor Si, looks like a younger Phil Collins & Deputy Steve like a young GWB.. :groupray:

So with that combo of celeb lookalikes, won't it be fun to see how many total strangers come up & say, "Hi Alanis/Katie..Hi Dolph..Hi Phil..Hi Mr President!"???

Here's what I just posted on their www.mcin.org - 4 a laff..

Our MC team hit Orlando on Sat, excited that they have 11-days MC promo program en route to "Uncharted Territory" MC conference in Phoenix :p

As I posted on Thurs - @ SE Region thread - y'all can have fun guessing which surprise cities & churches Faith Fellowship, Orlando, lined up for them

Knowing how USA is famous for prayer breakfasts, lunch-time meetings & supper specials, d'ya think they'll hit 3 cities per day en route?

Or maybe a day each in the main cities, visiting different churches? ^_^

My guess for today is International Church, Atlanta, GA

I reckon the venues may well include Evangel Temple, Montgomery & Good News Birmingham, AL..Dream Center & Lighthouse, Jacksonville, MI.. Cathedral of Praise & Coat of Many Colors Church, Houston..Dallas' Christian Center & House of Prayer..All Nations & Full Gospel Central, San Antonio..New Harvest & Solid Rock, Austin, TX :amen:

Will their "criss-crossing USA" divert as far as Oklahoma City Airport Church...Denver Downtown Healing Waters..All People's Praise Center, Colorado Springs..Boulder Origin Community...Phoenix All Nations Outreach??

Having enjoyed many road movies - Convoy/Crossroads, etc - it's an exciting way to stimulate UK youth imaginations @ the monthly multimedia meeting of 18 Southport Evangelical Churches Together, (next Sun, 6.30 @ the oft-televised Christchurch, Lord St, if any friends are in UK now)

God bless!

Ian Armitage - ("Mr Versatile") - Dip Th, Adv Dip Mission

Have fun! ;)

Payson: 1 hour away from Chandler, 1 hour and a half from Prescott, 2 hours from Flag (i think). Cleanest air in the world. (that's a fact! tied with a town in Germany) 15,000 people. 1 high school, 3 elementary schools. Go fishing everyday if ya like at Green Valley Park. View of Mogollon rim every day. Come and buy our house its for sale! I really want to move to Phoenix because I'm getting Paysonitis! Phoenix is cool.

By the way: this would be a really good place for a church plant! Consider it!

My son lives almost in Arizona. He lives in Gallup, NM beside the Navajo Indian Reservation. He's a home missionary. Anybody live on the Navajo Reservation in Arizonia? He's been to Window Rock, its the Navajo capital or something. He's also been to the Grand Canyon, too. Isn't Humphreys Peak near the Grand Canyon? Anybody ever heard of Humphrey's Peak? It's the highest mountain peak in Arizona (12,633 ft.). It is just above Flagstaff, AZ. Any of you from the northern or NE part of Arizona? Oh, and he goes to Canyon De Chelly National Mon. a bit. Oh and him and our youth group also went to Four Corners, too. I plan to visit AZ when I go to visit him.

Tucson has never fixed that smell problem?
I grew up in Tucson, and it stank all the way back to 1974.
It's the only place in Tucson that had that problem.

I thought they said it was a sewage treatment plant problem?

Hey, stop doggin on Tucson. I may not live in town but I live close and I don't see what the big smell problem that your talking about is?

There is one place in town that I do agree stinks to high heaven but that's not the whole city...I guess if you just drive down I-10 and smell that it could leave a bad taste in your mouth, but it's just one area as far as I know, and yes I do believe it is a sewage treatment plant. Whoever had the bright idea to put that in the middle of town....   Don't really know what they were thinking...

I do hail from Southern Arizona and I love it here!

HEY ::runs after feo:: I drive there at least 2 days a week....but well Yeah, I guess your right....:p.....I live south of Tucson, I really do wonder what y'all think is so bad, other than the roads, the traffic, well Prince Road really stinks, and I guess there really isn't much to do...and okay I give.

But just think about this, I live in a smaller town south of Tucson....I really do love it here, it's where God has placed me and I will rejoice and be glad in it! Where are you all from. I know the answer to some of you, but others still curious.
