  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Whew. That's a load off the ol' mind. :D Honestly, I miss the desert. I've had more than my fill of pine trees, snow, and caribou. Give me cacti, sand, and burrowing owls!

Where do you live now?

About the only things I hear about AZ is the vigilante border guard. Not that I can blame them too much.

Minutemen! Yeah, know the feeling.

hee hee... funny, i never think of 'hot' or 'desert' when i imagine AZ. I grew up in flag though...lol, i think of cool nights, warm days, nice showers.... flipping on the AC when it's 75 outside....relaxing at the pool when it's 80 (hee hee) and the smell of pine trees....yummy..

Man I love this place, but YES the cost of living is enough to make anyone  LOL

LOL Love your icon. How does Flagstaff compare to other parts of AZ? Went to Flag for vacation in 02 and loved it.

If I may but in . . .Flagstaff is completely different then the desert areas of AZ. Flag has tall pines, snow, lots of green, etc. Even though I'm sure most people think desert and AZ are synonymous, they are not. Like Sedona for instance . ..which is very close to Flag. It's very beautiful there! A lot of new ager stuff there as far as the people go, but Sedona and Flag as well as Payson, Pine Top, etc. are not your typical AZ places! But next time you visit the Flag area be sure to go to Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, and Jerome if you haven't already!

In answer to your "comparrison" question, AZ has total night and day areas -- some desert, some very green.

Otherwise come on down to the Colorado (preferrably between Oct - May otherwise its just too hot) and see the Grand Canyon/Lake Powell area, Lake Mead (AZ/NV)/Hoover Dam, Lake Havasu/London Bridge (bridge is kinda small).

I would love to do a river/canoe trip down the Colorado someday. Our desert is pretty too! Especially when the flowers bloomed from all the rain this year! We have the best sunsets ever in AZ!!!
