The judging that John the Baptist did was not to 'tell the ones who are not baptized that they are going to hell" though
I think it is appropriate not only to tell people the benefits of making the right choices, but also the consequences of making the wrong choices.

I'm curious. Since you believe only the Holy Spirit convicts (a very common belief), do you think there are better and worse ways of evangelizing, or do you believe all approaches are the same?
Forced conversion through fear is the wrong way. Voluntary conversion through love is the right way, as long as we are converting to the way of Jesus since He is the only way.

1. Not really. Even in the absence of all the scientific knowledge we have there's no reason to believe the claim of theists. It's magic.

Interesting that the history of mankind contradicts your opinion here.

2. See the thread about in this subforum about what atheists think of Christians.

That would be an utter waste of time, as every Christian knows exactly what atheists think of us. It's no different than knowing what a used car salesman thinks as he sees a person walk onto his car lot.

He said what would? The taking of Jewish words and co-opting them? It's a new thing. Stick to Jesus, it's your culture.

I am not Jewish. Not a descendant of israelites. I am a european-american. Jesus therefore cannot be my culture nor can I be his.

Is there some reason you need to be so nasty? I mean, it's OK don't get me wrong. Like the Jewish guy called Jesus said, we are to expect this. But is it giving you satisfaction of some sort?

Don't play martyr or persectued here. I was not that nasty. I find it highly offensive when Christians decide that it's cool to use Hebrew words in the way you have. It's a new practice, something that arose within the last century or so. Before then no Christian would have cared. It comes out of a desire to make Christianity go down easier for Jews, though you may not know that is the history of that practice. You see, Jesus and Christ are words that evoke problems in the Jewish community for there are no other words that came with such persecution and torment.

I've said my peace. I find what you did offensive, not because of Jesus or whatever, I've made it clear that I don't mind Christians or Jesus or any of that. I simply find Jesus unnecessary based upon my study.

Hello fellas I think that we should turn our attention to the OP one more time.. No need to get to this kind of off topic talk :( It does not look pretty for any one of us :(

Personal arguments like these never benefit our conversation here ..are they? Thanks :)

Why not? I'm still stinging from your stones that landed.

I was not that nasty.

Teshuvah? It's time here.

I find it highly offensive when Christians decide that it's cool to use Hebrew words in the way you have.

Were you born of Jewish parents? And do you think the Ruth the Moabite convert that married a Hebrew Israelite spoke Hebrew? I do. 3000 years ago.

It's a new practice, something that arose within the last century or so.

Do you have a calendar handy? A modern one? It's the date it is because of Christians that spoke Hebrew all the way back 20-plus centuries ago.
Are you sure you want to stay on this argument line?

Before then no Christian would have cared. It comes out of a desire to make Christianity go down easier for Jews, though you may not know that is the history of that practice.

Excuse me? Paul and Peter and John and Jude were writing to each other using ONLY Jewish words. 21 centuries ago. You may not know that but I promise you, it is the truth.

You see, Jesus and Christ are words that evoke problems in the Jewish community for there are no other words that came with such persecution and torment.

Please blame that on the EUROPEANS. Please!!!!??? The Hebrew Christians ALL ORIGINAL CHRISTIANS . . . were not part of that legacy.

I've said my peace. I find what you did offensive, not because of Jesus or whatever, I've made it clear that I don't mind Christians or Jesus or any of that.

I find what you did utterly offensive first. Teshuvah please.

I simply find Jesus unnecessary based upon my study.

So did many Hebrew Israelites back 2000-plus years ago when they opposed Hebrew Christians.

Notice that the HEBREW Christians had no problem with that?

In fact, Paul (a man that spoke and wrote Hebrew words very often) defended them with a passion against the feelings of non-Hebrew Christians. Literally, a passion.
