I am looking for folks who converted from Romanism to the Orthodox (true) faith.

    I have questions.

I should note that I do not have any bad impressions of the Catholic Church, I just found that my theology had diverged and was in line with Orthodoxy.

Thank you, I was hoping for a simple answer though. I can pore through tomes but don't have that much time or interest. Figured if someone could give a quick and simple answer (relatively) that would be great. I would never convert to Catholicism or Orthodoxy except if it was an issue of getting married in that church, because I don't see a point to it. I think they're really all the same even if they fool themselves with perceived differences.

Sedevacante is Latin for "the chair is empty." Sedevacantists believe that the current pope is not the true pope either because of heresy or something similar. There are others that believe all of the popes since Vatican II are not really popes and that true Catholics are to resist the posing as the pope.

When I attended these parishes, I did not do so as a sedevacantist, but rather as someone who was interested in learning their position. There are also independent churches that are not sedevacantist, but operate outside of their diocese because they believe the church is in error somehow. I used to attend these as well.

They're somewhat ultra-conservative in their own eyes, but in fact they're schismatics and in some cases even outright heretical. The claim that the See of the pope in Rome has been vacant ever since Vatican ii. Vii they say made heretical changes to the Catholic faith.

This is TAW obviously so I shall not teach any further more in here. I hope I answered your question satisfactory.

Quite a bit actually, but if you're not actually interested then it's not something one would be very motivated to spend time explaining, and risk derailing the OP's thread and potentially stirring up disagreements over.

Suffice it to say that there are differences in ecclesiology, understanding of sin, man, salvation, Mariology, and God.

well, we disagree on God, salvation, heaven, hell, soul after death, the Fall, grace, merits, transubstantiation, sacraments, revelation, Mary, the saints, and ecclesiology.

but aside from that, we're very much alike

spoken like someone who takes Church history more from the Dan Browns of the world than actual Patristics.
