This photo illustrates a point i have made. The plane looks like it is flying downward, but it is flying level to the surface of the earth. Same as the moon it looks like it is facing you, but is facing toward the surface of the earth.

Looks like you had clear skies. Did you take a few other photos of the moon at different times with the same lens settings so you can measure and compare the size?

Please share your results when you do.

I can't believe I have to point this out, but that is where you are standing.

How about addressing any one of the number of points that have been raised?

I did take the one during the day, but at night not enough of the moon was lit. My camera would not focus on the moon when i tried at night. I did not switch to manual focus to try. Because the one during the day was taken using auto focus and i want to use the same settings.

If the weather will hold out i will try again, when the moon is lit more.

Just manually focus and take a shot every two minutes and you'll get a picture exactly as the ones you have been shown.

And the moon wasn't lit enough? What's lighting it at night?

The airplane appearing to fly downward is due to it following the curvature of Earth. As it continues to fly away from your perspective it will appear to meet the horizon from a downward trajectory as it flits beyond the horizon. on a flat earth, it would continue moving away from your perspective getting smaller but not downward along the curve.

Ok... try to prove me wrong.. I have been on the fence with this "flat earth" thing.. but I have news..

The earth is 71% water and it is NOT carbonated...
So.... it's flat....
It was pointed out a simple problem with flat earth theories and that is gravity.
Water is a free flowing liquid. It always finds the lowest point to fill up from and balance out.
So if we were on a disk, it would have to have a thickness. And that thickness would create irregularities and pulls of gravity to attract the water towards the centre of mass.

If you look at the sun it is a blob of a flowing plasma which balances out into a ball, which makes it almost a 100% sphere with projections linked to explosions and magnetic pulses in the sun. Looking at all the other planets in the solar system the same rules apply. Spheres which pull things together equally. But the earth is the exception, but still has gravity. Now if the disc is stationary, no angular momentum the water would collect mainly in the middle without spreading out. And eruptions from volcanoes with flowing magma would equally flow to the centre of mass so over time a sphere would form and solidify. Gravity would then pull on the extremities and pull them in to the sphere as it grew.

If the earth disk was spinning, the water would reflect the forces. If you sit on a playground round about you get flung off is you do not hold on tight. So the water would be flung into space, unless another force could keep it in check.

A much simpler model is we live on a sphere where the gravitational affects are similar around the sphere. It self balances and matches what we see at all levels.

It was a 1/4+ moon. I could have if i would have manually focused the pictures taken during the day. My time difference will be hours not minutes.

Ok not an actual exact photo setting as the one taken during the day was again taken on auto settings. The one taken at night was taken using manual setting. Both photos were although taken with the zoom setting at 125mm.

How is this difficult for you? Good grief...put your camera on a tripod, do not move it and take pictures of the moon every few minutes with the same settings.

I do not have a professional camera, it is a Nikon (CoolPix) point and shoot. If you have a problem, either move on or take your own photos, but i do not care to here your whining.

Plus the moon at dark is just a bit larger.

If you can't take a few simple pictures of exactly the same thing a few minutes apart then we ain't going to rely on your expertise as a photographer to prove or disprove anything. Not that you had to. You've been shown those multiple exposure pictures of the moon already. And they completely refute everything you've said.

Do you mind keeping the camera orientation the same for all your photos, not portrait for some and landscape for others.

Actually, the daytime photo zoom setting is 105mm (check the metadata), so no wonder they are not the same size.

I stated in the post that i used the cameras auto focus setting for the day photo and when i could not get the camera to auto focus at night i tried the manual focus setting. But still the same zoom setting was used 125mm.

When there is clear weather again, i will use the manual focus setting for both photos. Since auto focus will not work, unless i zoom in real close at night.

I'm not sure what that was supposed to show. I know the size of the overall images, my question was regarding the size of the moon in each photo, which your above post does not show. I had asked to determine whether or not you had actually measured the moon in each photo or if it was a purely subjective statement. It was all moot anyway once I determined that your camera had used different zoom for each photo.
