As Camille70 pointed out, this just isn't true. That isn't to say that wind power failed -- then again it had the same issue that the natural gas plants did, not being winterized. It is worth noting that wind turbines work reliable in the various cold weather states, where they are winterized. But when you have millions of Texans (most of the state) with no power it is not because you lost 14% of power production (the difference between the average that wind power produces compared to what it went down to during the freeze). In fact, if it were true that the natural gas production had been 450% (as your editorial claimed), getting 450% of over 50% of the power would make up for every type of energy source failing; the editorial is lying to you.

I posted this in another thread. That version of events is not accurate
I find it impossible to believe that the Border Patrol and Texas authorities would say people died and they witnessed it if it didn’t happen given how bad it makes them look. I more suspect you’re referring to another group of deceased people than I am.

Either way, people are dying when they don’t have to because of an illegal barrier that was erected.

Texas officials called accusations they’d allowed three migrants to drown by denying border agents access to a riverside park “wholly inaccurate.”

The Texas military insisted they had searched the Rio Grande and the deaths had already occurred by the time federal officers arrived.

“At the time that Border Patrol requested access, the drownings had occurred, Mexican Authorities were recovering the bodies, and Border Patrol expressed these facts to the TMD personnel on site,” Texas Military Department said in a statement Sunday.
At no time did TMD security personnel along the river observe any distressed migrants, nor did TMD turn back any illegal immigrants from the US during this period,” the department said.
Ok, so you’re not talking about the same people that died that I am. The ones I’m talking about were mentioned in the article shared earlier and then again by somebody else.

Having enough people dying that the incidents aren’t able to be kept straight is an issue.

USA Today is not right wing media and I considered them reliable. However reading more stories, especially WSJ it seems that the causes of the blackout depend on who you ask. People on both sides of the issue are cherry picking and spinning.

The Texas Blackout Is the Story of a Disaster Foretold

Those in charge of Texas’s deregulated power sector were warned again and again that the electric grid was vulnerable.

”Partisans eager to use Texas’s 2021 energy nightmare to impugn either renewables or fossil fuels can cherry-pick from ample evidence, and they’re doing so.”

Get a grip.
About as mature and intelligent a response as I would have expected from somebody rooting for a civil war because they aren’t getting their way.

Maybe I’d be just as reactionary if I were ill-informed and so insistent on being on the wrong side of history.

Thankfully, I’m not.

Is that the story you’re claiming details CBP complaints about getting injured in razor wire and multiple accounts of injuries because of razor wire? It just mentions very briefly that CBP have assisted people caught in the wire and repeats the false claim that Texas officials prevented CBP from saving migrants who drowned.
This is hardly the numerous reports you say that have left me beyond help because I haven’t seen them.
Again, I have done as much as I can do for you on this topic. If you’d like to re-write the narrative to make your stance more palatable, that’s fine. Whatever gets you through the day.

I’ve been entirely clear on this matter, the rest is up to you to do and how honest with yourself on the topic you’re willing to be.

Elon Musk has fired back at President Biden’s calls for a bipartisan Senate deal to be passed to fix the unprecedented levels of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border.

Biden released a statement late Friday saying that the legislation being negotiated would give the president a new emergency authority to shut down the border "when it becomes overwhelmed" and that he would use that authority on the day he signs the bill into law. "For everyone who is demanding tougher border control, this is the way to do it," Biden said in the statement. "If you’re serious about the border crisis, pass a bipartisan bill and I will sign it."

But Musk, a vocal critic of the border crisis clapped back to the statement posted on the president’s X account.

"No laws need to be passed," Musk wrote. "All that is needed is an executive order to require proof before granting an asylum hearing. That is how it used to be."

Musk, the owner of Tesla, SpaceX and X, previously argued that gaining asylum status after illegally crossing the southern border is as easy as a Google search.

He also agreed with Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor David Sacks who wrote last night that the border is broken "because this administration refuses to enforce the laws we already have." Musk responded by writing, "exactly."

Border Patrol has "no plans" to remove razor wire placed by Texas along the southern border, a senior Customs and Border Protection (CBP) official told Fox News on Friday, stressing a "strong" relationship with Texas despite an ongoing legal battle between the state and the administration.

Dozens of Republican governors have backed Texas as the feud between the state and the feds escalates. But a senior CBP official told Fox that the relationship between Texas and Border Patrol officials on the ground is "strong."

"While this issue plays out in the courts, the relationship between Border Patrol, Texas DPS [Department of Public Safety], & TMD [Texas Military Dept.] remains strong," the official said. "Our focus is and will always be the mission of protecting this country and its people. On the ground, we continue to work alongside these valuable partners in that endeavor."

"Bottom line: Border Patrol has no plans to remove infrastructure (c-wire) placed by Texas along the border. Our posture remains the same. If we need to access an area for emergency response, we will do so. When that happens, we will coordinate with Texas DPS & TMD"

Ok, meanwhile Biden says he’d shut the border down tomorrow if the bipartisan bill were approved, but Mitch McConnell is dragging his feet.

Why?

Because Trump doesn’t like it.

Trump didn’t craft it, he didn’t inform it, he doesn’t hold any office, and likely hasn’t even read it, but because he doesn’t like it, Republicans aren’t sure if they should play ball or not. And the only reason Trump doesn’t want it is because it would hand a W to Biden.

So if you’re looking for somebody to blame look no further than the stable genius and his merry band of sycophants.

I genuinely, genuinely don’t understand why people are so devoted to a guy who they’re terrified of.

The deal that would “shut the border down “ would allow 5,000 entries a day the last I heard.
Is that still on the table?

Through legal means and proper channels that, in some cases, people have worked on for months and years (excluding refugees asylum seekers). Means that, just a few pages ago, people said they’d be OK with because they were both legal and proper and because it was a volume that could be managed effectively while also being significantly less people than we’ve allowed in decades.

And no need to panic. That 5,000 is mostly Asian-descended people, not Central and South Americans, the people that don’t terrify the conservatives.

Either way, People are dying of drug poisoning, Himan trafficking, etc. A barrier reduces that. Biden needs to close the border and he refuses. So Texas is doing what it can. According to the news, zero came through there, after it was put up..

Yes, that is also whatI heard reported.
I think also some of it had to do with those already here. This needs to be rejected. At this point we have a problem with what has already happened first. We cannot handle who is here, why the hoopla over letting more in?

Here is what the liberals don't seem to understand. It doesn't matter to the conservatives where you are from. If you are here illegally, then you violated the laws of the USA and you are a lawbreaker.

It is just race baiting. It has worn itself out. Minorities are not even buying it so much anymore. Legal immigrants are seeing their American dream disappear, just like every other AMERICAN.
