So, the ILLEGAL immigration invasion of America is really not an invasion but is just my imagination? Hmm..
The record shows I have not claimed or implied that you or I or anyone else are imagining that illegal immigration in large numbers is taking place at the southern border. The issue is the denotation of the term "invasion" in article four of the U.S. constitution being appropriated by Abbott to connote being representative of these particular illegal immigrants, only so as to be able to claim that the Biden administration failed to protect the citizenry of Texas from human traffickers, and fentanyl, etc...

The term imaginary vs the term factual.
The difference between the two is that reality dictates the truth to us and therefore facts are observed and learned, whereas imaginary things are neither observed nor learned, but conceived/perceived in the imagination of the mind. For example, if we are told through the media that whole families with babies and children have traversed through thousands of miles of jungle and desert and are now attempting to cross the border illegally into America, we imagine that they must be very desperate people and we feel compassion. On the contrary, if we hear there are rapists, drug smugglers, human traffickers, and terrorists sneaking though our borders, then we imagine there are dangerous criminals up to no good, and instead we feel a sense of danger.

While both can be true in reality, the obvious observable fact we are witnessing is that the vast majority of these immigrants are desperate people seeking a better life.
But wait, this ILLEGAL immigration invasion of America is really all about compassion, right?
Compassion is when we see others suffer and want to do something to ease their suffering. In essence we suffer with them.

12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.

13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.

15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.

16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

17 And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

I’m glad you say that both are true, there are some criminals and dangerous people and there are some desperate people who want a better life.
But the truth is we don’t know which is which

Through legal means and proper channels that, in some cases, people have worked on for months and years (excluding refugees asylum seekers). Means that, just a few pages ago, people said they’d be OK with because they were both legal and proper and because it was a volume that could be managed effectively while also being significantly less people than we’ve allowed in decades.

And no need to panic. That 5,000 is mostly Asian-descended people, not Central and South Americans, the people that don’t terrify the conservatives.
I don’t see how you can say who the 5,000 are, it sounds like they close the border once they reach 5,000.
And what is the plan for those already here?

I don't think anyone has ever said the Border is secure.
You think conservatives made it up? What do you think all of this impeachment of Mayorkas talk is about? Here is actual testimony of Mayorkas before Congress, go to two minutes in:

"No laws need to be passed," Musk wrote. "All that is needed is an executive order to require proof before granting an asylum hearing. That is how it used to be."

Is that where this silly talking point came from? Musk is now an asylum legal expert eh.

It's doubtful it comes from Musk. He and his RW buddy Sacks are not exactly "thinkers".

Instead of debating the point, it appears that liberals would rather dismiss the source of the point.

Joe Biden and Mayorkas have lied to the American people about the border. It is a lie that the border is safe, a lie that it is secure, and a lie that it is closed. The media did their best to cover for the administration and the devastation to border cities until members of Congress were able to record some of what was going on. Most Americans did not realize the truth until illegals were transported to sanctuary cities. Conservative media has been reporting on the rapes of women and the child trafficking controlled by the cartels.

The vast majority of the American people believe in orderly immigration. The objection is that the administration is disobeying the laws and lying to the American people. Illegals are allowed to go ahead in line of those who legally applied and now are even given taxpayer benefits ahead of American citizens. Allowing who knows how many who hate our country in and the sheer numbers has created an international disaster. We don't know how many MS13 gang members or terrorists or cartel members or spies and foreign soldiers have entered our country.

Do I doubt the motives of an administration that has lied so often on the border? You bet. I remember what happened in Afghanistan, where plea after plea was ignored by the Biden people and the paperwork of allies of America in Afghanistan, including a number of translators and their families, were held up month after month. Joe Biden abandoned them and I shudder to think of their fate. Likewise the Biden administration has a horrible record on human rights, particularly Christians. Many Catholics and Methodists in Nigeria in need of asylum have been killed because they are Christians and have received little attention from Joe. See the article below:

“The United States should increase pressure on Nigeria for the blatant violations of religious freedom occurring in the country. More Christians are being killed in Nigeria for their faith than in all other countries combined. The U.S. government should do everything within its power to support ending the persecution and bringing about the peaceful coexistence of faith communities in Nigeria. Since it is clear that the State Department will not take significant action over the terrible religious freedom conditions in Nigeria, it is vital that Congress makes its voice heard,” added Nelson.

Yes Trump is out for himself but why is Biden addressing this now after 3 years of telling us the border was secure (ask KJP) ?
Could it be because it’s an election year?
The President finally “does something and without missing a beat it’s “why’d it take him so long”?
“Loyal opposition” is one thing, but this is just whining whilst moving the goal.

No, Joe and his people have flat out lied about it for three years. Now that Mayorkas is going to be impeached and Joe is tanking in the polls. Joe, even with great support from the media, cannot keep the lie going. This is because too many Democrats from the border areas and sanctuary cities are defecting. So Joe is changing tactics, but talk is not the same as action.

Joe Biden and Mayorkas have lied to the American people about the border. It is a lie that the border is safe, a lie that it is secure, and a lie that it is closed.
There are semantics. Qualifying a secure/safe border is relative and subjective according to the standard of criteria being applied and whether you're pro/con towards those seeking asylum or suffer from a phobia. Subsequently someone can be called a liar whether they say it's safe or not safe, or whether they say it's secure or not secure, or closed or not closed. As for criminality entering at our borders, the fact is that sin is in the world including Americans because sin doesn't stop at the border.

So, let's be honest here. The border has always had people crossing illegally and cartels have always smuggled drugs across that border as long as there have been cartels and people to buy them. The issue at present is what to do about the large numbers of people fleeing from central America and entering our country illegally. Biden and Mayorkas have both acknowledged this is happening and that it has been happening from the beginning of his presidency. So, telling me they lied about the border being secure or safe because some people reason strictly on absolutes is not credible.

Again, the lying thing and the disobeying laws thing and the fear thing is not helping. Every president could be accused of disobeying the law by not deporting dreamers or slow walking asylum hearings, and for all I know you could be talking about refugees or asylum seekers going to the head of the line, and you just didn't realize that's why they go to the head of the line according to the law.

As an analogy, there's always been crime, that doesn't excuse leadership of a city for handing a city over to the thugs or homeless. This border disaster is UNPRECEDENTED in enormity in the United States due to DELIBERATE actions on the part of the Biden administration. Rather than face trial for crimes they would rather say there have always been border problems. The Biden administration has lost track of 80,000 children. What have they done to find them? These people should be prosecuted and jailed. While Joe lies about simply needing more money (what he does with more money is PROCESS more into our country and cut razor wire to let more in) more women are being raped and more children trafficked. You're right about one thing, the lies are not helping.

The majority of the illegal immigration are visa overstays. They have outnumbered border crossings for at least a decade, if not more. When I've brought that up elsewhere, people were ok because they originally went through the proper channels and were "vetted".

There was a program under Obama that released asylum seekers with ankle monitors. It had a 95-99% show rate (depending on the source for info) for trial regardless of whether or not they were going to be deported that was discontinued by Trump when he started all the family separation nonsense. I can't find the article I posted about this originally but this has some info.

The GOP doesn't really want to stop illegal immigration. They could target the businesses that use the labor if that were the case. We see what happened in Florida, I was told all those workers are back though. I have an acquaintance knowledgeable about these matters. I was told a lot of private prison operators who are GOP donors are also making money using private prisons to house them. They are basically criminalizing asylum seeking and keeping people the entire time until a hearing decides their fate instead of releasing them to await a decision. Detention centers also get double the money for minors because they need education and extra care. So the age for a minor has been changed in some cases from 17 and under to under 21, so they can get extra money, yet not have to provide any extra services and it looks like there are more minors than there actually are.

Trump himself was hiring illegals the entire time he was complaining about them. Only an expose caused him to fire them, and this was after he was elected president and promoting everify.

I'm ok with people being deported or denied asylum. I'm against the mistreatment and family separation. Against the dehumanization. I'd also prefer for someone to be able to earn money than have to resort to crime such as muggings etc to survive. When people have no options, they resort to crime to survive which endangers all of us. IMO, the reason our crime rates are dropping is because unemployment is so low.

Someone said Trump had no need to do an immigration bill while POTUS. He had agreed to one, but Stephen Miller and the GOP torpedoed it. Stephen Miller wanted to stop ALL immigration from non-white countries, legal or not..

Immigration is like abortion, the GOP base truly cares, but the leadership, INCLUDING all the conservatives, uses it as a tool to manipulate the base for votes. I don't understand how people can proclaim they are Christian and at the same time support the slicing and dicing of people seeking a better life and saying "well that's just what they get for coming here." They never quote Deuteronomy 10:19-19, 27:19, or Leviticus 19:33-34/ 24:22 The GOP dog caught the abortion car, it's not trying to catch the immigration one, because alot of the rhetoric used to scare and anger people does not match reality and the businesses and donors who support them want the labor.

If this was such an EMERGENCY, such an INVASION, why does congress say they can WAIT until Trump gets in office to do anything? Why aren't those 25 governors who said they support Abbott asking the representatives in congress to get something done? They are trying to play their base again and redefine "invasion" etc, and stir up anger to have an energetic electorate come November, This time I hope they are smarter since Trumps comments are public and other GOP reps having spoken out against what he has asked them to do.

FYI... not an immigrant...

While the Democrats/establishment media tried to keep a lid on the disaster, some GOP members were able to get to the border and take videos. A big break on the border crisis came when the illegals were shipped to sanctuary cities. The complaints of Democrat mayors of sanctuary and border cities forced the major media to cover the story. The Biden administration from the beginning put out hoax after hoax to demonize those speaking out against the violation of border laws by Joe's administration. Remember the "whipping" story--a fake story to rile up the Democrat base. Recently the Biden administration put out a story about the National Guard causing the drownings of immigrants by not letting the feds save them. Yet another hoax. Most recently Joe sent people to cut the razor wire and has now given a deadline and an ultimatum to Texas. The way these Democrat leaders manipulate their base is something.

The amount of denial is shocking. People seem to prefer willful ignorance to truth

The border is generally only an emergency during an election year. The rates were much higher in the 1990's. Border states get money to deal with immigrants. If they are going to bus the problem elsewhere, they need to send the money along with them.

Current numbers look much worse than they are because they changed how they count apprehensions and expulsions. They used to be separate but now they are counted together as "encounters". The majority of illegal immigrants are not crossing the border anyway. They are overstaying visas.

Although you and I both agree on being compassionate towards immigrants who are desperate and are sincerely seeking a better life for themselves and their families, entering the US ILLEGALLY is still not justified. We have laws for a reason. I don't agree that the vast majority of immigrants pouring into our country today ILLEGALLY are necessarily these types of people. With everything that has transpired under the Biden administration, I see too many of them looking for golden opportunities and free hand outs.

I believe that you underestimate the dangers and problems associated with allowing such a huge number of ILLEGAL immigrants to continuously pour into the US. Where is your same compassion for US citizens already here being effected by this out of control invasion? I have often wondered why the Biden administration is so adamant about flooding America with ILLEGAL immigrants, but now that reason is becoming more and more obvious. Here is a speech from Biden while he was still Vice President which was an eye opener for me!
