Ah, so you are going to adhere to the ad populum fallacy?
Sure ... why not?

After all, didn't you say this?
Of course we do. When we have to deal with grown men and women...
Aside from who you are referring to by "we," I'd like to know what you have done personally to deal with those kind -- besides nothing, that is?

I'd say every single poster here on CF that called God's chosen people "Bronze Age [whatevers]," haven't done one blessed thing for or against them.

If they had, they would be whistling a different tune.

I am still an atheist.

Thanks, Tinker Grey. I appreciate you trying. You are one of the first to come so close, it would seem foolish to point out you didn't say "Jesus is The Lord".

"The" seems to have very little meaning to some people. I've heard people try to refer to the Holy Spirit in the bible as just "Holy Spirit". My issue with that is, it begs the question which spirit I am referring to as holy.

When God and Jesus said "I am", there can be no question as to who they were. No, other could claim such a name as it is singular. It is why the Jews went to stone Jesus when He said "I AM".

So, for the English language, "The", or "Thee"; makes it clear when you write "Jesus is The Lord", you are in fact saying there is no other that could be "Lord".

I have seen people write "Jesus is lord"; which also shows the level of Lordship we are talking about. The capital 'L' in Lord, also carries meaning.

Just for the record: Jesus is THE LORD.

Still an atheist.

And by the way, "thee" is the second-person objective pronoun and has no relationship the definite article "the".

What is this silliness? OK, whatever.

Jesus is The Lord. Jesus is The Lord. Jesus is The Lord.

There. Happy? I am still not christian, and it looks like I haven't been struck down or anything yet. Still waiting.

Thanks, Tinker Grey for the civilized discussion. A definite rarity.

Just to show that I'm not biased towards any fictive entities:

Odin is The Lord. Odin is The Lord. Odin is The Lord.
Aten is The Lord. Aten is The Lord. Aten is The Lord.
Quetzalcoatl is The Lord. Quetzalcoatl is The Lord. Quetzalcoatl is The Lord.

Of course we do. When we have to deal with grown men and women who believe the word of Bronze Age desert herders as the inerrant word of some arbitrary divine being, supported by the equivalent amount of evidence of Santa Claus' existence, it tends to get a little attention.
While I can appreciate the disbelief of those who have neither faith nor understanding, blasphemy cannot and will not be tolerated. Take your blasphemy and be gone with you. There is nothing you could ever say further that has any importance. Bye.

True, but seeing another post after that one is one post too many. I have absolutely no respect for those who disrespect the Lord. Atheists are as entitled to their disbelief as we are to our faith, but outright blasphemy is is an automatic dismissal on my part.

What I said is indisputable fact, and if you deny it, then you'd be rejecting reality.

Before I came here, there were two issues in the Bible I didn't quite understand.

1. How Jesus was mocked during His trials.
2. Why the Bible says not to "cast our pearls before swine, else they will trample them and turn and rend us."

Now I fully understand.

It's very humbling. Fortunately I have learned something.

Have you learned what that verse means yet?

The verse has always been about belief. It's the different answers that are said that I learn so much. You said it, but no longer claim it. Why? Only you know the truth. Others say it, yet assure me or any audience here, they are not followers. I am intrigued by these reasons for leaving a faith. The top of the lists are boy meets girl, she gets pregnant, boy wants to take responsibility, girl kills baby, boy could not do anything to save his child, and believes there is no forgiveness and chooses to hide the pain.

That can't be your story; that would be weird. There are so many stories, of why christians leave the faith, yet God says he will never leave or forsake you. Let me tell you, sometimes Gods glory shines most in what we have to overcome. The bible never says wolves become sheep, it never says goats become sheep. The bible says the Good Shepherd lays his life down for the flock. There are lost sheep and they will be found. I hope and pray one day you see this.

The verse is a powerful verse. And yes I know it's context.
