I don’t think your anxiety is wholly responsible for your behavior. This sounds like a spiritual malady. You’ve tied your self-worth to marriage and made it an idol.

Your longing is inordinately greater than it should be. It’s an outgrowth of rejection you’ve fed. You’ve acquired anxiety, fear, and sorrow because its unmet. Your anxiety will worsen when you have someone. The fear of loss will consume you.

Few people marry the first person they date. Which means parting and starting again. How will you handle the demise if the absence puts you in a tailspin?

He’s sensitive and knowledgeable. His unbiased input would be helpful. Therapy hasn’t mastered the problem. You have to tackle it from many angles. Including the spiritual.

Bethel is a mega-church in Redding, California. It puts out a lot of popular worship music, and has a few popular worship artists on its record label. Jesus Culture actually came out of Bethel. It’s pastor, Bill Johnson, reads out of a translation called the Passion Translation, which I’ve heard was written by just on man, who claims to have gone to heaven, and had a look at “John 22”.

They also have a school called the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, in which students claim to see all kinds of stuff, like giant angels, and the secret sins of others written on their foreheads. Some members also roll around on the graves of the deceased to soak up their anointing.

Hillsong is actually based in Australia, they’re not part of the Bethel collective. From what I’ve heard, they focus more on prosperity-driven teachings.

Women aren’t controlled by fear and Teal Swan is not a reliable source for Christians given her background and beliefs. Her about me page makes no mention of God or Christ. She describes her practices as spirituality.

i'm aware of what she is like but I never throw out the baby with the bathwater. someone is not automatically right just because they blabber specific words. such people don't want the truth as much as I do. the fear thing does make sense to me though. in general many are controlled by fear in some measure. ofc jordan spoke in a similar vein. should I not listen to him because he is not christian enough? if I made inferior things my master I would do myself and God a disservice.

prosperity based teachings is not only something infecting Christians. I guess new thought is sort of a major thing that got this started? they are not always bad either, but most feel pretty empty to me. trump used to go to a new thought church.

Honestly, I think that’s a prime example of what “spirituality” does to you mentally. You are tapping into things that are not of God. Bethel Church is another example of this, as there’s a video of Beni Johnson (I think) laying her hand on a man, and he starts writhing on the floor and screaming. It’s horrific.

Those who aren’t Christians can only cast out evil with good in a worldly sense of good. They disagree with God’s standards of good, so they go with their own perception of it.

No idea, but if that's the case, I probably won't be getting married till 50 at least, which is depressing.
Is it really, tho? 30 to 50 doesn't seem that long, considering how long I've been single.

Let me rephrase this. According to the Word of God, those who have not put their trust in Jesus and follow Him are evil. It is not disputable, God says it, so it is. That’s why I said for other religions, you cannot cast out evil with evil because other religions are evil. Culture was a poor choice of words, as there are Christians in other cultures around the world.

That’s all I’m going to say on the matter, because this thread has gone off the rails.

I read that it's now a trend for American men too marry and date foreign women because American women aren't worth as much anymore. Society is depressing. And I still prefer women of my own race (no offense needed).

If this is a trend, it's nothing new.

I know during Vietnam, Korea, WWII, for example, soliders would meet their wives overseas.

Even domestically, America is very big & Americans move a lot so they're always meeting 'exotic' people.

I mean in a context that women in modern times are thought to be corrupted (not my words and I think that'll attract a lot of hate, but there seems to be at least some truth to it).
