  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

'An apple a day keeps the doctor away' is also just one of quite a few sayings that are not true.
So why then does AFEGEAFHGB get your attention?

Funny ... that's all we've talked about since I said it.

Clearly she feels sympathy for you and want to help you out of what she sees as your self-delusion.

She's new here; she'll learn.

"Maturity without history", right?

You use that term all the time. But it doesn't make sense the way you use it.
Despite his Poe-ishness, I will attempt to take AV's comment seriously.

By "Maturity without history", he means that the universe was created mature without actually going through the time it takes to become mature.

You guys keep saying that the Earth has history. What you mean is that the Earth has indications that it has gone through events that require long passages of time. As long as you say that those events are history, AV can just say you are outside the scope of his declaration that no history occurred prior to 4004 BC.

Adam was made mature without history. He was made with the knowledge of walking, talking and the ability to recognize and gather appropriate food. We could say that he needed those things to survive.
However, if he was made with acne scars, would that appearance of a previous bout with acne be deceptive on God's part?

AV, what do you think? Would making Adam with acne scars be a deception on God's part? I think it would be but if you disagree, please explain how it would not be deceptive?

Leave her alone then.

She's getting a good dose of how faith operates.

Just like you guys did -- (and still are).

She is getting a good dose of how your faith operates. Which, I would not confuse with other people's faith.

God did not create anything with scars.

That is known as the Omphalos hypothesis.

Omphalos means "navel," and a navel is a scar.

Then by your "reasoning," God didn't create Earth, the Moon, or most of the observable universe, but it's got more scars than a belligerent POW.

If God created Adam with acne scars, would you consider that deceptive?
Of course not.

Especially if He documented what He did, where He did it, when He did it, what order He did it in, how long it took Him to do it, why it took Him that long, and who they eyewitnesses were.

Assuming He created Adam & Eve with acne scars, then His "very good" assessment at the end of chapter one means that acne scars are a very good thing.

Interesting comparison in view of how I believe the earth, the moon, and most of the observable universe got those scars.

Your beliefs have been noted -- and dismissed as non-Biblical ad hockery.

Then you believe God considers impact craters on the Earth to be "very good".

You believe God considers providing the indication that a supernova occurred in the universe before the universe was created, to also be "very good"?

You believe that God considers leaving evidence that something happened, when it actually didn't happen, to be "very good"?

Impact craters came from the angelic rebellion.
I believe the universe was created pristine and without "floaties;" but is now occupied by dust and debris due to a cosmic battle that took place some 6000 years ago between good and bad angels.

The asteroid belt is no exception.

Wonderful. So all the impact craters on Earth occurred after the creation of man?

On to the rest of my questions.

You believe God considers providing the indication that a supernova occurred in the universe before the universe was created, to also be "very good"?

You believe that God considers leaving evidence that something happened, when it actually didn't happen, to be "very good"?
