  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So it's easier for you to comment if I use sites like that, than it is for me to use the Bible?

The idiocy of the person that wrote that site is possible to comment on without breaking the rules here. I don't think you can say the same about the writers of the Bible.

Not that I am saying that the writers of the Bible were idiots. Far from it. But they were ignorant of many many things. Which is understandable. It is rather difficult to be learned of computer chips when electricity has not even been invented yet. The human race as a whole is continually learning and becoming less ignorant. Going back in time the human race's ignorance has to grow. Once again, ignorance is not stupidity.

It is foolish not to use the fact that we have learned and to profit from that.

Lift your head up and away from the words of confused people and point it straight ahead or to the sky for once.
And see what?

Deep time or a stretched (not expanded) universe?

Accreted dust or remnants of a war in space?

[Non biological] evolution or creation?

Nebulae or [fallen] angels' homes?

Entropy or a universe groaning for the Day of Redemption?

Is this a YES?

You talk big until you have to explain yourself; then you suddenly wax technobabble.

I chuckled when I read that one.

I thought to myself, "No way am I gonna pass up making a thread outta this one!"

He's against evolution though, and that's what counts.

"The tragedy of young-earth creationism is that it takes a relatively recent and extreme view of Genesis, applies to it an unjustified scientific gloss, and then asks sincere and well-meaning seekers to swallow this whole, despite the massive discordance with decades of scientific evidence from multiple disciplines. Is it any wonder that many sadly turn away from faith concluding that they cannot believe in a God who asks for an abandonment of logic and reason?"--Dr. Francis Collins, "Faith and the Human Genome"

I am sorry if I did not bring it down to a sixth grade level for you.

You wanted me to honor the rules of the forum, by your wording that sounded a bit like a threat. In that case it is easier to respond to modern idiots than it is to respond to ancient ignorant peoples.

The people in the past had a reasonable excuse for their errant beliefs. People of this day do not.

You got the right person then! ;)

Please, quoting out of context is not honest. Your post implies I said that about you and it was clearly about the people in your sources.

For example it is perfectly legal here to call sites that are written by liars "lying sites". It is not legal to apply that epithet to fellow posters. People can be misled. They can use lying sites without being liars themselves. It is usually best to give them the benefit of the doubt.

AV, let me explain something to you.

Blindly quoting or agreeing with anyone who opposes evolution doesn't help your cause. If they have terrible, laughable arguments, they are not going to convince anyone, and are going to do more to convince people that your position is completely groundless.

Creationists, specifically the ones who make ignorant claims without even studying the subject first, do far more harm than help to Christianity. Many former Christians have deconverted because they realized that their creationists churches and pastors were lying to them about science, so they figured they must have been lying to them about God as well.

You could at least have some kind of standards for your sources, then maybe people would take you just a bit more seriously.

Here are ten scientific facts that evolution is wrong:

1. Birds prove natural selection is naturally wrong.

2. Species without a link.

3. Missing inferior evolutionary branches.

4. Single cell complexity.

5. Human egg and sperm.

6. DNA error checking.

7. Chaos from organization.

8. Chromosome count.

9. Origin of matter and stars.

10. Peanut butter.

For an in depth explanation of the first nine, QV: SOURCE.

Does that include quoting the Bible?

They were people too, you know.

How can you possibly think ignorance is a good thing...?
My wife's signature verse is:

1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
