  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    A Musically Broken Christian's Frustration

Simply put, my heart's just not into singing or listening to Christian music (or most kinds of music for that matter, especially ones with words). I do think that not having grown up in the church has made it harder for me to get into it, especially when it sounds, forgive me for saying this...

    Christian Goth Bands

Hello everyone, I pray that you are all doing well and fine. I wanted to share with you something fresh and something new that you may not have heard of before. Modern Goth started in the 80's along with Christian Goth which is for the glory of Jesus while the secular was more about...

    Music And Prophecy

Who is God? What is his character? Who does he work in the world? How does someone lean on God? What is Faith? I am going to give a testimony of something I experienced February 2014. It may help some answer the above questions. I have posted a lot of Youtube music videos online through a...

Have Gun Will Travel : Christianity And The Ties That Bind

I would like to preface this with the Ballad of Paladin Have Gun Will Travel. The Ties That Bind are a concept I discovered with The Holy Ghost. You will find "Ties That Bind" referenced in The Band Perry - Better Dig Two and Johnny Cash - I Walk the Line (from Man in Black: Live in Denmark)...

    Powerpoint Question

I think I read that in Powerpoint it is possible to attach an audio file to a slide. I don't currently have this program, but the answer to this question may help determine how soon I need to get it. Has anybody tried this out in a worship setting? ie attaching a music file to a slide. Will...

Can a Christian listen to Electronic Music? (EDM)

I cannot deny the fact that Christian music is not my preferred genre of music. I love how it praises the Lord and I do enjoy it (mostly because of the message behind it, not the music itself); but when I'm studying, or just sitting on the bus, I prefer to listen to tunes I genuinely enjoy. I...

I just bought VIP tickets to the Skillet and For King & Country concert in Orlando!! I live in Maryland so I'll be traveling by myself there. But I get to meet them and do a Q&A session with them. I'm more excited to meet Skillet because I love them so frickin' much! Just wanted to share my...

    Tatilina’s praise & worship & encouragement songs

I will use this thread to share my most favourite and treasured songs, a lot of them are a little old ranging from the late 70’s, the 80’s and up until now, though I am little more cautious in what I listen to concerning music. I will pist a video a day and anyone is also welcome to share any...

    A Christian Test. Urgent!

Dear children, I have become a test. God has molded me into a cigarette addicted beggar vessel: I am a riddle and I am a snake, A golden snake in a disguise, Just as you, a God in a vessel of damnation, A creation with a Hope, I am one of you, But most of you don't recognize me as one of you...

    Where is Jesus?

I was praying this afternoon (5/22/11), and I was thinking about the busyness of our lives and how we can get so busy with all of life's activities that Jesus often takes a back seat or is forgotten altogether from our lives. The Lord inspired me to write a song about all the things in our...

    Popular Music is Pornographic Music

Not all twelve of the most popular songs a month ago encouraged sexual immorality of some type. Only eleven of them did. Of those, at least three were so graphic and explicit that they truly deserve to be called pornographic music. How do I know this? I have not listened to those songs and...

Church and the College Schedule - I Need Community

So, being a college student, I work weekends to sustain my apartment. I'm a music major, and my school schedule doesn't allow me to work during the week with my current job. (One which I love very much and hope to continue once I graduate) Problem being, I can't attend church with this schedule...

Gospel Artists Collaborating with Secular Artists...Thoughts?

Gospel artists collaborating with a secular artist is nothing new, but in light of seeing mainstream gospel artists such as Tasha Cobbs and Fred Hammond, who are doing collabs with secular artist have raise a concern of where in music we draw the line. I understand that people have to may move...

Who's your favorite Christian music band

i just thought I'd start a thread to check out some other Christian music. Doesn't necessarily have to be your favorite group. Just post whatever you like. As for me I like Hillsong of course, The Newsboys, Danny Gokey, and many others. Here's one of my favorites from the Newsboys.

    Matthew West - All In

Just heard this. Loving the instruments in this one, one of my favourite modern worship songs I've heard in a while. The lyrics are interesting as well, it definitely makes me think about building up my confidence to do what the Lord wants me to do.

    Jeremy Camp - My Defender

Is this the right way to post a song on here? Anyway, this track's been growing on me a lot recently, the lyrics are so meaningful as well. Your opinions?
