Music And Prophecy

Who is God? What is his character? Who does he work in the world? How does someone lean on God? What is Faith? I am going to give a testimony of something I experienced February 2014. It may help some answer the above questions.

Walk with the Spirit

After that you will go to Gibeah of God, where there is a Philistine outpost. As you approach the town, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with lyres, timbrels, pipes and harps being played before them, and they will be prophesying. The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. (1 Samuel 10:5)*

I was walking to campus at Middle Tennessee State University to a Bible study which was about a mile away. It was raining outside, and I had a full sized Bible with me, so I decided to put it under my coat. The rain was slow and gentle. I hear a voice that says, “Don’t worry.” My heart was full of the Spirit of God, so I take my Bible out from underneath my coat, and walk with it swinging at the end of my arm with no worries. I "don’t look down" or even think about it. My mind is on God. As I approached an intersection I started singing “No bodies fault but mine” by the Dixie Hummingbirds. I rarely even sing at church. I don’t look to see if anyone saw or heard. I don’t care.

I arrive at the Bible study which was about a .75 miles away, and go inside a building. I check my Bible for moisture. It was dry. Bible Study was lead by a student, and he had a lesson prepared. I stayed out of the way, and let him lead.

As I am walking back from the Bible study, and it is raining much harder than before. I notice that the rain doesn’t touch the hand I am holding the Bible with. I walk twenty five feet, and notice the water isn’t touching my other hand either. Doubt enters my mind. What if my sleeve is what is keeping the rain off my hand, and not God? What if my Bible is getting wet? I ran my finger down the spine of the Bible. At first it was dry, and then it became wet quickly. I had looked down. I had shown doubt and fear. Doubt and fear kill faith. What I did was reasonable in the context that I fear my Bible getting wet, but God had told me not to worry. It would have been more reasonable to trust God.

I walked the rest of the way home with the Bible under my coat. Some devils start to plague me. “Look at this prophet. He is shamed.” I tell them “I am learning. I am only 29 and I have time to get it right. Look how far I have already come. Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

The Devils tempt me, “Why don’t you take the Bible out of your coat and walk again? If you are so powerful it won’t get wet.” I tell them, “My faith has been weakened, and I won’t make God suffer for my weakness.” (God has honor and Glory. Faith is reasonable. I felt attached to both being his servant.) God was pleased.

Faith is something that grows with trials. If someone's faith is shaken, the best things to do is go be alone with God and pray. Possibly sleep it off.

As for you, son of man, your people are talking together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each other, ‘Come and hear the message that has come from the Lord.’ 31 My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. 32 Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice. (Ezekiel 33:30-33)*

I have posted a lot of Youtube music videos online through a variety of social media. I have done so to help people have eyes to see and ears to hear. Help drop Jacob's Ladder down so they could be with God. Also, I find that listening to music and/or watching specific Youtube Music Videos, I may receive something from God and/or start Prophesying.

Short Example:

The first time I did the following, I felt compelled to by God. I saw a theme and it worked. I posted the following on my personal Facebook Page.

Where does real Faith come from? I don't know that there is one right answer, but at times, when a man has nothing, he turns to The Lord. God answers back.

Days after posting the following, it rained heavily in Texas, and there was a lot of flooding on the Brazos.
