  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does Deuteronomy 22:1-3 teach we should help strays?

Hello! Does Deuteronomy 22 teach that we should help stray animals find their owners, even when we don't know the owners? Here's the passage in question (emphasis mine): If you see your fellow Israelite’s ox or sheep straying, do not ignore it but be sure to take it back to its owner. 2 If they...

Shall we take apart the Euthyphro Dilemma piece by piece?

Yes, we shall. So, I'll start. I'll start with a simple affirmation: The Euthyphro Dilemma is firmly contingent upon, and originated from, and can only be applied to, an ethical analysis involving the concept of POLY-THEISM at its core. Note: For those who are new to the idea, the Euthryphro...

    Davinci Resolve

Hi, I make YouTube videos. I need editing software to edit them. Currently I cannot afford Premiere Pro, so I use Olive. I know Davinci Resolve is the best free software compared to the biggest flagmans, but the company name kinda make me to stay away from this program. Blagmagic design is the...

    Covid - Two Paths

If you could help save the world and future generations, but had to take a 1 in 10,000, 5,000 or 1,000 risk of dying in the process, would you take that chance? In Australia, the current chances of a normal healthy individual who gets diagnosed with Covid-19 dying from it are less than 1 in...

    Deathbed Confessions

Usually we hear about a person confessing belief on their deathbed. But, imagine a non-believer at the bed of their mother who is a believer. She emotionally suffers because her son is not saved. He could make a false confession of faith before she dies and limit her emotional suffering by...

    Health Insurance, amidst Infanticide

Over a year ago, I remember hearing on the news several stories on the radio, and reading about them online, about states like Virginia, New York and Illinois passing laws permitting new and more horrifying levels of infanticide. For instance, in Illinois assault and battery law (see footnotes)...

Does this even count as ALTRUISM? ......

NO, there's not going to be an extended lead-in. An Open Discussion on the Church and Homosexuality

Western society seems to be following the trend of increasing its tolerance for different practices. The general social view towards homosexuality and the LGBTQ+ Community as a whole is becoming far more affirming as years progress. Many Christian denominations have become officially affirming...

    Atheism and Ad Absurdum

Was in a friend's wedding not too long ago and got into an argument with one of our other friends concerning slavery in the Bible. Not sure what he was ultimately trying to point out (maybe trying to get the moral high ground as an Atheist), but the debate transitioned to how he could...

    Best Theory of Ethics?

What do you think is the best (most effective?) approach to ethics? There are generally three schools of normative ethical theories (taken from IEP article linked below): 1. Virtue Theories: Stress the importance of developing good habits of character, such as benevolence (e.g. Aristotle). 2...

    Decades in decline

Any thoughts on this? From Ravi Zacharias... “In the 1950s kids lost their innocence. They were liberated from their parents by well-paying jobs, cars, and lyrics in music that gave rise to a new term ---the generation gap. In the 1960s, kids lost their authority. It was a decade of...

Why Is Abortion Legal? 1 Corinthians 6:19

Abortion is legal because the Party that allows it to be legal is immoral, and simply slapping God in the face. They're playing God(by determining who lives and who dies, and nobody should have that power but God!!!), and if you vote for that party, you're slapping God in the face also. The...

Talk about Human Depravity … for Goodness Sake!
