  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Which Denominations are Fundamentalists?

Not all Conservative Christians are fundamentalist: e.g. Traditionally- minded Catholics and Eastern Orthodox may be conservative but they do not accept Sola Scriptura. What about Confessional Lutherans, Continuing Anglicans, Nazarenes and Conservative Methodists?

    God's Favor - Pro/Con of Denominations

Without naming the object (Denomination) of your praise or critique, in one sentence or the most two, please cite what remains largely unspoken yet in these last days. For example: It disgust me personally the thought of kissing statues!

Comparing the Eastern Syriac and Indian Church Communions

Historical Christianity East of Mesopotamia Prior to 1552, there was one church hierarchy that used the East Syriac Rite in Syria, Iraq, Iran, Central Asia, and India. Prior to 1599, the same was true of the Christian community in India that was part of that East Syriac Rite hierarchy, but...

Hello! I'm doing an assignment at my Pentecostal Bible College, and need some input from a people across a variety of denominations. I'm looking for answers to three specific questions: What is your overall impression of the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement? How well do you feel you understand...

    Faith Evaluation Survey

I know this may be out of place but I think it is important to know issues within the church and among different denominations, so I made a survey to try to figure out the main issues. If you all would take a minute to fill out the survey, I'd really appreciate it! Faith Evaluation

The Lord never intended for denominations

I never understood denominations. Its just something man-made to further separate us from one another. Was Jesus a Catholic? Did he ever say once to pray to his mother Mary? No. The golden plates of LDS focus our attention away from the Lord. I believe non-denominational is the closest we can...

    So Many Denominations.

As i study God's Word, i can't help but notice that the early church did everything together as one, and where told to be likeminded. Philippians 2:2 KJV — Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Acts 2:44,46 44 And all that believed...

Does God meet us where we are despite our denomination?

Ok... so I'm not feeling that great today, so please try to go easy on me? I have a theory. I see so many examples of God's grace in different denominations... godly grandparents and great-grandparents in my own Baptist family, saints I admire in the Catholic and Orthodox churches, learned and...

    Philosophical denominations?

My question is: Which denominations are known for being philosophical, i.e. the services are more like expositions than testimonials, and the focus is on education and enlightenment rather than (just) community? Background to the question: I have lived my whole life without religion and have...

    Col 2:6-8

Calvinists have their doctrines I don't agree with. Armenians have doctrine I don't agree with. Charismatics have doctrines I don't agree with. Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc., etc., have doctrines I don't agree with. There are things that some Baptists will say, some...

Mainline Protestant and Evangelical denominations both declining, how do we change that?

It is an oft discussed subject that mainline Protestant denominations are declining and losing members. Evangelical denominations are also declining in recent years. The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest evangelical denomination in the United States with 15 million members, is declining...

Denominations are at odds with the true body of Christ

I don't attend a denominational church because they require that everyone agrees on a particular doctrine and/or statement of faith. I disagree with that approach because it isn't in agreement with the New Testament. When the first ekklesia were formed they were groups of people, each person...

    Are the Pope/Historic Councils inspired?

Hey, so there was some discussion yesterday at my school (Westminster Theological Seminary) about whether or not Catholics actually believe that the 21 Ecumenical Councils and the Pope himself while in office is actually inspired, infallible, inerrant, etc. This guy at my school (himself being...

On the size of denominations and communions
