  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do You Think Catholics are Often Unappreciated by the CF?

Let's face it, Most Catholics have an uphill road ahead of them. A lot of Protestants believe that the Pope is anti-Christ, and the Catholic Church is run by demons. You and I know that this is not true. We KNOW that (along with other Pre-Reformation Churches--Orthodox, Coptic, Thomas...

    Authority in the Christian Church

I have spent a lot of time discussing theology with Roman Catholics, since I was born and raised Roman Catholic but have left that faith on account of their doctrine and dogma. Thus, that brings me to a few questions that I have been reflecting on for a while now. During these discussions with...

How to convince my older sister NOT to divorce her husband...

My sister and I grew up as very conservative, traditional Catholics. I still am today. Recently she confessed to me that's she's been "falling out of love" with her husband, and has been seriously considering filing for divorce. They have three little girls together. She made no mention of...

this is hastily put together... so i if you do not watch this video.. you have no reason to comment here... many things i have left out because of this video. Catholics, how do you personally view God?

I'm currently in a debate, (a real easy one, I might add) and in it the question came up, about the nature of God. I've realized that I have a particular view of God, (which is in total conformity with the dogma and doctrine of the Catholic Church) and that sharing this view of God will not only...

Is Catholicism the ONLY true faith?

Recently, someone told me that Catholicism is the only true faith, and that Protestants are heretics and may go to hell. When I told him I didn't pray to Mary and the Saints, he got quiet and claimed that Jesus' disciples and the first Christians were really Catholics. He claimed that anyone...

A Protestant Who Reads the New American Bible

I am not sure where exactly this thread belongs, but here goes. I decided to read Ephesians and seeing that I got a handful of new Bibles from the thrift store, I pulled out the 'New American Bible: St. Joseph Personal Size Edition' I got. I really enjoyed how the Scripture was portrayed in...

    Black Magic

I was wondering what the Catholic Church believes about black magic. That is, the potential for a man to call upon some power and induce thunderstorms, cancer in someone else, a change of one's fortune, etc. Also, if such a thing is possible, would it be a requirement that this man has previous...

The Spanish inquisition: A quick overview.

Hi! I just uploaded a short video overview on the history of the Spanish inquisition, from it´s rise in 1480 to it´s abolishment in 1834. The video is trying to give a somewhat objective description of the Spanish inquisition and the literature it´s based on can be found in the description...

    TradCat Rosary Novena

I've realized that, I've failed to connect with my fellow Traditional Catholics on CF. I've been more preoccupied with Evangelization than with helping my fellow TradCats. It kind of reminds me of Fr. Chad Ripperger's comment, that TradCat families have a tendency to act like the mafia, being...

    The priest and his authority?

He knows Im Catholic, which leads me...

    Creationist: "I literally hated science."

John Larson, a Roman Catholic, clearly opposes evolution, partly because he doesn't like what some theologians, including Popes, have done with the idea. Yet he makes no place for a natural process of evolution, even if all notion of evolving theology is rejected. John Larson: << I literally...

Michael Glatze: Evangelical Christianity, Dispensationalism and the Rapture are heresies

In case you haven't seen or heard of the movie I Am Michael starring James Franco, Michael Glatze was a gay activist who, after a health scare, turned to God, gradually became anti-gay, became a pastor and married a woman. Now it seems he has renounced AND denounced all forms of protestant...

Interfaith Parenting - Catholic vs Evangelical

    Are the Pope/Historic Councils inspired?

Hey, so there was some discussion yesterday at my school (Westminster Theological Seminary) about whether or not Catholics actually believe that the 21 Ecumenical Councils and the Pope himself while in office is actually inspired, infallible, inerrant, etc. This guy at my school (himself being...

Evolution in the Light of Augustine and Aquinas
