  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) announced Monday that she has signed a bill into law punishing employers that make it easier for their employees to bargain collectively.

The law, known as Senate Bill 231, bars companies from receiving state economic incentives if they voluntarily recognize their workers’ unions, rather than forcing them to vote on whether to unionize in secret-ballot elections. Affected companies could lose grants, loans and tax credits starting next year.

I thought the Republicans were for small government, and minimal overreach (in an ideal world). Let the employees make the unions. :) Seems that both parties are in it for power. The days of the small government are over, regardless of who one votes for.

Luckily, the moderates support unions, as 52% of moderate conservatives support unions, while 66% of moderate democrats support unions

Republicans have been pro union busting for decades.

"Small government" was the rhetoric they used to snare naive ideologues.

Hard working Americans are having to suffer because the rich friends of bama GOPers don't want workers to have good money.

It's easy to see which party does NOT stand for the working man.
