The allies, growing increasingly nervous about Biden's verbal flubs, have said it's an approach that's been suggested to campaign officials on the heels of the former vice president's stumbles.

Biden has a tendency to make the blunders late in the day, his allies say, particularly after a long swing on the road, like he had last week in Iowa. They say something needs to be done to give the candidate more down time as the campaign intensifies in the fall.
Maybe a nap will help.

perhaps, as it helped Reagan

In any case, the Democratic Party is very likely to win with Biden or Bullock (who has a long way to go to be competitive for the nomination). The only other candidate that seems to have a chance is Booker.

It's a point worth considering. Biden is unlike the other candidates in certain ways and he might as well go with it.

I am referring to not feeling he has to speak to every audience, be as impassioned as the Warrens, Betos, Bookers, etc. He could cut it back and play the senior statesmen role rather than the barnstorming crusader. With this crowded a field, image matters as much as promises and words.

I agree. I believe that he is already doing that. For example, I believe that all of the other top 10 candidates have spent more time in Iowa that he has.

Agreed, I think he has to be careful not to take things for granted and just not go to some venues. That seemed to be part of Hillary’s downfall.

I think once the actual campaign cycle starts, the President is going to be extremely active as in 2016.

That takes a lot of stamina.

First things first. I believe that we are talking about the Democratic nomination. If Biden wins the nomination, he will need to be more active. Obviously, his campaign team won't allow him to skip key states as Hillary did.

If his schedule is an issue now, how will he handle it when it is a whole lot busier.

It’s an interesting observation that he has problems later in the day. It could just be age, but it can also be an early sign of dementia.

This will be an issue for Republicans and anyone else who wants to vote for someone else.

If he is the candidate, I suspect Biden will make his medical exams public, just as Trump does :) The bottom line is that everyone in their 70's need to deal with this type of issue. Folks can choose only to vote for those who don't qualify for Medicare, as many have suggested. We could choose youth, because some consider that a major advantage (Budigieg).
